Pros: Nice keyboard feel; good speakerphone - digital full duplex is excellent. Cons: Lousy sound quality.
I have few demands when it comes to a phone: good sound, and full duplex speakerphone. Therefore, most of the features that this particular model sports do not have any weight in my review. Others may be more discriminant when it comes to features set, bu ...

Great phone
by porkitup ,Apr 09 '04
Pros: great sound, lots of features Cons: I paid more than I should have. But now much cheaper.
I bought this phone because I only had one phone jack in my apartment. It's great because the cordless headset's base only needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet. The phone has wonderful range, and great sound. It has every feature I needed: call display, answering machine, ability to store many numbers, speaker phone, hold, long battery life etc. The menu screen is also very easy to use. Great phone.

Great phone, terrible battery
by montymtb ,Apr 29 '04
Pros: Sound, range, features, good looks. Cons: Battery life, slow charge time.
Six months owned and it is a great phone, but the battery life is terrible. Lasts longer than the other reviewers have said, but nowhere near as long as it should. After a full charge the phone will be dead in less than 3 days without making a single call. I did a little research and found a NiMH battery to replace the original NiCAD which will hopefully be much better. Will update review after I have tested. The only other problem I have with this phone is that the scroll function is really slow. Other than that, this really is a nice phone - range, sound quality, speakerphone, digital answering system are all top notch. If the new battery (which I found online for about ten bucks) works, I would double the rating I provided here.
++++++UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE+++++++
Got the new battery and it makes all the difference in the world! If you have this phone and you are getting bad battery performance I would highly recommend buying the NiMH to replace the original. The one I purchased is an Energizer model #ER-P730. The new battery is still going strong after a week of usage.

Phone great, battery miserable
by kyle1177 ,Nov 09 '03
Pros: CLear cordless phone Cons: Battery is terrible
I have had this phone several months, and took care not to create NiCd memory problems. The worst part of the phone is the Nicad battery, if you buy this phone, invest another 25 bucks on a NiMH battery which will last longer. The Nicad lasts less than a day unused off the charger since it was new.
Both myself and 2 other friends who have this phone like the features, and the cordless phone is clear without interference. Scrolling through the menu for memorized names is a bit slow.

Nice Phone, Battery s**ks
by xtalondriver ,Sep 03 '04
Pros: Features, ease of use. Cons: Battery.
Features are nice. Relatively easy to use. Tried to make sure battery was prepared properly. But to no avail, it didn't last for a 10 minute conversation.
I sent it back under warranty. What a fiasco. All I wanted to do was have the battery replaced. I had to pack up the entire phone and send it back just to replace the battery.
I'm still experiencing the same problem. The battery won't last through a 10 minute conversation.

Don't Buy
by smd888 ,Feb 11 '04
Pros: good looks Cons: does not hold a charge. Answering machine volume too soft.
Will not hold a charge. I charged the battery just as specified in the manual. Phone dies after 2 - 10 mins.
Panasonic sent me a new battery and I am still having the same problem. A friend has the same phone and her experience was the same. She threw the phone out.
So far I have not been satisfied with Panasonic's customer service. If they don't rectify the situation they are going to loose a customer for good.

Very Disappointing
by writesm ,Sep 18 '03
Pros: Excellent voice reception quality. Cons: Failure to stand behind the product.
This was given to me as a gift several months ago. Although I followed instructions regarding initial charging of the battery of the portable handset, the phone continued to fail to hold a charge after 15 minutes or so of use from the beginning.
Panasonic's customer service would do no more than telling me the obvious, buy a new battery (about $20).
I have always held the Panasonic name in high regard. Until now.

a dog of a phone. avoid!
by Fritz57 ,Feb 24 '04
Pros: looks good, sounds good and is comfortable to use Cons: zero battery life in use, therefore useless!
Panasonic greatly disappoints. I believe their time as a respected cordless phone maker is over. I have had Panasonic units for many years. This is the second unit I've received. After a month the ability of the battery to hold a charge failed again.
Although the base unit sounds pretty good, the cordless doesn't hold a charge for more then 10 minutes of time in use. And it crackles.
On standby, it doesn't do much better. Perhaps an hour.
I finally found a 3rd party NiMH batt for it. Now I can carry on a reasonable length conversation with it. But it still crackles.
They pulled this one from the supply chain shortly after it was introduced. Hopefully Panasonic learned their lesson in subsequent products. I'd always been a fan of their cordless phones until this one.
