Great Phone, must get!

by majesty8 , May 08 '03
Pros: Voice Clarity, Smart Design, Expandable Handset, Speaker Phone ability
Cons: Small LCD Screen on Home Base, Battery Life, Price
I had one of the first 2.4GB phones when it first came out, but when I upgraded it to the KX-TG2730, I was blown away! First and foremost, Panasonic has gone pretty far technologically and innovatively of its KX phone models.

All I can say...

THE phone to buy

by hedgehogs , Aug 02 '02
Pros: Huge array of features, excellent sound clarity and talk time, easily expandable, great design.
Cons: Nothing major to point a finger at.
UPDATED 9/18/2002: I added notes on my KX-TGA272S (add-on handset/alarm clock combo) ownership experience, as well as more long-term observations of KX-TG2730S itself. Please scroll down to the end.

I acquired this unit at...

Just what is going on with the battery life? (Important update!)

by peterggg , Oct 21 '02
Pros: Excellent voice quality, features; potentially good battery life.
Cons: Potentially poor battery life.
Prologue

If one has read the reviews on this telephone, both here and on Amazon.com, you will note that the issue of battery life, or lack thereof, is mentioned relatively prominently.

I actually purchased the KX-TG2700, the...

Excellent expandable phone and voicemail system.

by antwbone , Dec 17 '02
Pros: Voice clarity, good digital voicemail quality, multi-line display, "smart" buttons, expandable up to 8 handsets.
Cons: Display on base unit just shows the number of messages on answering machine.
Let me first preface this review by saying that I am a bit of a phone nut and I am always on the search for the best phone system. I went through 5 phone systems (AT&T 2255, Panasonic KX-TG2551CS, Siemens Gigaset 4015, VTech VT2461, GE 27990-GE3)...

For the price, it should be better!

by packdragon , Jan 06 '04
Pros: Superior range and sound quality. Cute ringtones.
Cons: Battery life, LCD problems, speakerphone doesn't pick up sound well.
After having gone through a series of cheapy cordless phones with limited range, we decided to splurge on a fancy phone that would fulfill all our cordless desires. To date this model has only fulfilled some of them. OUT-OF-THE-BOX EXPERIENCE ...

I Lied! I bought (regretfully) another Panasonic cordless.

by 31775 , Oct 17 '02
Pros: Feature-laden, good handset "feel", good looking, most other features work well
Cons: Lousy talk time; handset speaker phone rated a "6" out of 10
Well, I guess I just don't learn, do I? On my previous review of an older model Pana cordless, I clearly stated that I would NOT buy another Pana cordless. After just recently buying a similar V-Tech phone (as in, similar features to this one, multiple...

THE best cordless phone as of Oct '02.

by jimseld , Oct 22 '02
Pros: Fantastic features and usability, great form factor, expandable - brilliant!
Cons: Battery life is mediocre, ~ 2 talk-hours.
In a word, this phone is awesome. I've been searching for 4 years and had previously tried & rejected a Sony SPP-A972 (poor operation, dropped calls). The new 27xx series has answered all my needs and done it with quality and performance; I'm a very...

Solid quality. Good value.

by magsig , Jun 08 '03
Pros: Good quality sound (no hiss) and range. Access answering machine from any handset.
Cons: Answering machine could store more messages. Needs more manual controls at the base unit.
I was looking for a full-featured, multi-handset phone system for my house. I tried the 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz Vtecs, and while they had the best features, looks, and form factor, they had poor quality sound.

When I buy a phone, I don't want hiss....

Great phone, Wi-Fi Friendly, but too dependent on handset

by docwisdom , Dec 19 '03
Pros: Good range, quality, and construction. Multiple voice mailboxes are great! WiFi friendly
Cons: Completely dependent on handset for programming and feature changes.
I have had this phone for about a month now. So far it has been a great quality piece of equipment. It sounds good, has long range, includes tons of features and is Wi-Fi friendly. First the phone sounds great. It is crisp and clear, even at long ...

Panasonic KX-TG2730

by sillypuppy , Sep 12 '02
Pros: Voice mail, caller Id, Intercom and room monitor, and multiple handsets.
Cons: Short battery life, voice clarity, some voicemail features.
This is a nice phone system with many great features but it does have some major drawbacks I wish I would have known about before my purchase. I do like the feel and size of the handset, the LCD display, the ability to intercom other handsets, and the...

it's very good. Just read full review and decide it for yourself

by supplier , Dec 24 '04
Pros: Expandable, high quality, a lot of useful features, three voice mail boxes
Cons: Low quality battery must be replaced with better one.
I found this review on my hard drive. I wrote it 9 months ago. Just want to add this particular model was one of the first where Panasonic introduced nanny-intercom and two-way radio. To make a decent range of the radio the power output was slightly ...

TG2730/270

by johncorrigan , Dec 27 '02
Pros: Good sound quality and range. Answering machine on handsets.
Cons: No extra battery slot, no headset jack on base, can't use calling card.
Most of the functions work pretty well. Stored numbers can be sent to other handsets, but if you have more than two you will have to send them to each handset individually. It would be nice if there was a synchronization method for the directories...

Nice Phone - It Has Some Issues, But It's Still The Best

by syrath , Jul 19 '02
Pros: Reception, Handset Speaker-phone, Menus, Large Display, Battery Design, Ease of Use
Cons: NiCd Battery
The battery for this phone, although it might be easy to use, is cause for some concern. After using this phone for quite sometime now I've noticed that the connection plates on the battery need to be cleaned from time to time. They symptoms for me where...

Overall great phone

by echan , Dec 23 '02
Pros: multiple handsets, getting messages from handsets, intercom
Cons: lack of stored number-callerid link, phones do not work on charging base
Bought this phone mainly to allow my wife to be able to listen to phone messages from the bedroom upstairs. It took a nice Circuit City clerk to open the box and read the manual to confirm it did this. This took the V-Tech out of the running. Was also...

Terrible battery makes the phone virtually unusable

by dai123 , May 03 '04
Pros: System of expandable handsets in theory is a great idea.
Cons: Battery life is poor that this single con essentially wipes out all other pros.
I agree with all the previous reviewers who had problems with the Panasonic battery. We purchased the base unit, two extra handsets, and have had problems with all the handsets. Similar to other users, the battery charge indicator showed 3 bars (full ...
