Pros: fast, high detail in photos Cons: it makes my desk shake
I bought this HP DeskJet 960C last summer. I had never owned a printer before and was tired of always going to the library to print. I heard from people that HP printers were the best. So I went out and bought one.
Pros: Prints very vivid colours. Great for printing pictures. Cons: Slowest machine in the world. Don't use it for high volume print jobs.
Ok, I've moved offices almost a year ago and needed something until the budget could be approved for a brand new toshiba multi-use printer / photocopier. So I was given a HP Deskjet 960c which can print in colour and I have to say, this is the slowest ...
Pros: good quality printing Cons: power supply died after 12 months
We were very happy with this printer for the first year that we had it. It was used both for printing text as well as photographs from our digital camera. Then one day it refused to power on. Unfortunately for us, this was about a month after the...
Pros: Nice black stylish look. Looks great on my computer desk Cons: goes crazy and prints gibrigs sometimes
HP 960C I was amazed at the speed of this printer when I first bought it, rocking my computer desk back and forth when it prints. I have had this printer for just under 2 years. I have had to replace black and color tanks in the beginning with new ...
This is our 4th HP printer ... by dplank ,Feb 19 '04
Pros: Easy to follow instructions for use, compatibility to most computers. Low Priced. Cons: Cost of ink cartridges ...
Can't say the quality is getting better with subsequent models. This is the 4th HP we've bought and currently have this printer and an older model 697 still in use on another computer. Both have problems with picking up multiple sheets, or spitting out several sheets simultaneously. The 960C continuously notifies me that my ink supply is low, when in fact it has just been replaced.
The paper does jam occasionally, but is fairly easy to clear with the rear entry panel. Have had a few problems with sheets of labels not coming through properly and a label sticking on the roller. This is especially bothersome later when trying to print pictures on glossy paper. The photo paper starts to skew toward the end of the sheet if there is any residue left from the labels on the roller.
Overall photo printing is good, although the price of the ink cartridges are through the roof. Cheaper to take your digital photos to the 24cent/ea discount printers than print them at home. You can buy after-market refillable cartridges, but don't think the quality of ink is comparable to the HP inks.
HP DeskJet 960c InkJet Printer by blesfreedom ,Apr 24 '06
Pros: Easy to use; Reliable; Inexpensive (compared to other printers); Looks Good; All around Great Printer! Cons: Maybe the cost of replacement ink, but that comes with any color printer!
I've owned my hp 960c for over 4 years and don't have a single complaint. Works as reliably as the day we bought it. I give this printer a 5 out of 5
Great Printer! Great Price! by stephanm ,Feb 04 '04
Pros: Great picture quality. Good overall performance. WELL PLEASED!!! Cons: none to mention
I bought this printer because I was shopping when it was marked half-off to clear shelf space for the newest model. I have not been disappointed! I have owned it close to 2 years. The printer I had before was a Lexmark and it had to be replaced 3 times before I finally gave up and got this one. I am now a die-hard HP printer fan and plan to buy another printer exactly like this one for a small office. GREAT picture quality! I am a digital picture freak and this printer has no problems keeping up! I'm sure I will eventually upgrade but I'm not in a hurry.
Deskjet 960c - Worst piece of plastic junk I ever used by k4wa ,Nov 19 '03
Pros: Light - you can toss it a long way off the second floor balcony Cons: Everything pertaining to paper handling, error correcting and more than occasional printing
I've used quite a few printers in my time, several of them deskjets. Based on my experience with this printer, I'm going to sell my HP stock. One reviewer said it "jammed a couple times." I bet he doesn't use it often. It jams, snatches up too many sheets, it won't pick up sheets and says "out of paper" when it's not. What's worse, when you try to clear up the problems, they get worse. Finally, in exasperation, you turn off the power in an effort to clear the buffer...when you turn it back on, it prints a line of gibberish on every sheet and it'll clear out the paper tray. On the sheets it doesn't ruin with gibberish, it leaves creases. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. Spend a few more bucks and buy an Epson, or something that's reliable.
