Pros: Quick to shoot and save, best images around, incredibly good software, pros beat cons Cons: requires care in focus, sometimes underexposed, no builtin flash, no jpeg, large image files
None of the negatives I outline here matter... at all. I'll cover that further on. It's incredible (I also own a D60). If you don't read the whole review, just skip to my "dolphins jumping" pictures at end - you'll probably think it's a hoax. There is ...

Pros: It takes fantastic 100 ISO pictures but that's about all. Cons: Bad high-ISO performance. Bad lens mount. Bad filing system.
The camera's generally OK as long as you're prepared to use Sigma's own RAW system for the images. Generally this means you can't sell your images unless you can upload them on your own computer where you have the software. So... if you see Elvis ...

The best I have ever experienced
by advisor02 ,May 26 '04
Pros: Great SLR with great Foveon Technology. Cons: Can't find any.
I haven't used many digital SLRs before. But in general I have used SLRs and witnessed other expensive digital SLRs. This one is excellent, specially with the price in mind. Very competitive. The colors and specially the sigma photo pro 2.0 does magic on the pictures. One of the best digital SLR cameras I have ever come across for the price. I have used other 6MP and 10MP cameras, and there is color and difference in detail. You will really cherish this camera. Although it does good in point and shoot, to get the best results you need to use this as a professional camera (complete manual mode). If you have $$$$ for expensive lenses , even better. It's pretty much comparable with the output of the medium format. If you're a skilled pro, you can make wonders with this. The shutter speed is 1/6000 of a sec which you can find only in very few high end digital SLRS.
If you want to take continuous shots , make sure you get flash cards with faster data transfer rates.
