Pros: great pictures, small, affordable, great for trips and lots of other things. Cons: Pre-set settings aren't "wonderful".
Let me start this review by saying that I am a semi-professional photographer. I have done 2 weddings (both small and secondary) and have done countless portraits, artistic and landscape shots. Photography is one of my "things" I guess, and I really ...
Pros: Small, good interface, photo quality, speed, battery life, all for a very fair price. Cons: LCD just decent, software, tacky plastic exterior.
The Sony P70 series has been going 5 years or so, and has been a big success, but was there enough of an upgrade in the DSC-P73 from the DSC-P72? I'd say so. However there are some downgrades in order to keep the good price. Firstly, the ...
Pros: with a 3x optical zoom lens takes great pictures Cons: cannot zoom when recording video
It's definitely 2004 when you can buy a 4-megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom lens that takes great pictures for just $300. Sony's new P73 is no stripped-down camera, it sports features like a 5 point auto focus system, manual exposure control, multi ...
Pros: Good Beginner Digital Camera, Good Price, Packed With Features Cons: Flash isn't that great, The Digital Zoom is useless
I bought this camera a year ago when I purchased my laptop. I had been wanting a digital camera and this one was priced pretty low. I would have liked to get an SLR but those cost much more. I moved to this camera from a Canon Rebel G (35mm SLR). ...
Pros: Great price. Included rechargeable battery with recharger. Small design. Cons: Almost a must to buy extra memory. No panaroma function as with Olympus.
I bought this to replace my Olympus D550Z. I have owned 5 Olympus Digital Cameras and going to a Sony was a big step. I compared prices/specs and the DSC-P73 model suited me the best. Newegg had the best price for $269, but I also bought a 256MB ...
Pros: Good price, easy to use, small Cons: Takes blurry pictures, poor customer service
I bought the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P73 digital camera because I'd heard good things about it. We were in the market for a good digital point and shoot but didn't want to spend a fortune. Several of my friends have this exact same camera and loved it. ...
Pros: Small and easy to carry, love the zoom feature when viewing photos, easy to use Cons: cheesy photo software, needs a bigger memory card
This is my second digital camera I started off with an HP and I don't recommend that brand to ANYONE. I was extremely skeptical about purchasing another digital due to all the problems I had with my first one but I've had my camera now since the end of ...
I was always a little doubtful about digital cameras. One of the reasons why is that the majority of people have disks or CD's of pictures that are never printed out. Once I made the decision I just decided that the only way I'd get the camera was to ...
Pros: great video, good images, small - but not too small Cons: Image resolution is only 4M pixel
This is our second Sony digital camera. By today's standards, it is less than entry level (only 4M pixels), but it does have Sony's excellent video capabilities. It is very comfortable, small - but not too small, so even one with fairly large hands can operate it.
It uses 2 AA NiMH rechargeable batteries - but it is very picky: not all batteries work. In a pinch one can use alkalines - although they will run out very quickly.
Pros: great pictures initially Cons: no longer takes decent pictures
I bought this camera a little over 2 years ago when we were expecting out first child. We were very happy with it - the pictures were great and it was easy to use. It was also very affordable.
However, within the past year, the pictures are no longer decent. At least 50% of the pictures we take are blurry for no apparent reason. If we take 3 pix of the same subject, 2 of them will be blurry and unsuitable for printing.
I am very unhappy with this camera and am looking to buy a new one. I probably won't buy another Sony.
My hubby won this camera in a raffle a few years ago and I was so excited. It became mine of course. It is wonderful. So easy to use, easy software and produces great pictures. A YES for anyone.
Pros: Ease of use, Good pictures, Value for money, (there are so many)....... Cons: Shutter Speed
I bought this camera last year. This was my first digital camera and found that it was a pleasure operating it. I have used other digital cameras before, particularly older Sony models and found that this was extremely easy to use. The shutter speed definitely needs adjusting. By the time you take the picture the subject would mostly likely have moved. You will need to get extra memory, the 16MB that comes with it is barely sufficient. But overall a great camera and an excellent buy.
Don't use it if you have a baby by kw83028 ,Dec 22 '06
Pros: Price, Ease of Use Cons: Blurry Motion Pics, Durability, Size, Digital Zoom
I was initially happy with the camera when I took the first few pictures. Then I had a baby and it went to junk. About 75% of the pictures that I take of my new baby are blurry. It's impossible to make a baby sit still, and I thought a camera would be able to adjust to slight motion. This one does not. I'm definitely investing in a better camera.
Pros: Excellent camera with many options not usual for it's category Cons: Can not zoom during taking a movie
I will not talk about details. You can find the specs on the net. I will let you know why is it a better choice compared to other point and shot cameras with similar price:
1. Unlimited movie length (limited only with the card capacity), 30 fps with Memory Stick Pro.
2. Manual mode.
3. Battery life (400 pictures), Charger and batteries included.
4. Taking pictures in 4:3 and 3:2 dimensions - very important if you want to make printouts in standard formats. For example 10x15 cm (European format) is 3:2 (15:10 = 1.5 and 3:2 = 1.5), but 15x20cm is 4:3.
I have DSC-P73. Pictures are great. It is not for the professionals, but for the users preferring easy to use camera it is a excellent choice.
