Pros: Huge wide screen. Seven inputs. Component and S-Video. Did I mention it's HUGE! Cons: Stretched cable picture takes getting used to. Universal remote isn't universal at all.
I've been wanting a widescreen television for years. The black bars on my DVDs have really aggravated me. Finally I splurged and bought this glorious Sony television after 'previewing' the same model at a friend's house. I am not disappointed at all....
Pros: The split picture feature is nice. Good sound. Cons: Picture blurry in wide mode.
I really like a crisp picture, so when we went to Best Buy, that's what I looked for. Regular TVs seem to have a much crisper picture than projection TVs. The TV I was looking at was $1000, so I figured if I was going to spend that much money, I might...
Pros: Excellent picture. Nice pic-in-pic features. Lots of inputs Cons: Poor sound. Reflective screen. Projection lamps develop known 'flicker problems' over time.
I love this TV - I didn't realize what a worthwhile purchase this would be. I haven't been to the cinema since I bought it :) The TV is capable of displaying two channel inputs at the same time - and shrinking one while growing the other. This is usefu ...
Pros: Wide screen, Big, Sound, Clear Picture, Lots of Inputs, Nice if it worked Cons: Something scary you don't want to know if you bought it!!
The TV was the most beautiful thing in the store the day I bought it. Nice wide screen clear picture beautiful colors many many features picture on picture and all the other goodies. Many inputs for high resolution video and dvd players and last but not...
Pros: HD, DVI, RearScreen, Nice Remote, Great Speakers Cons: none
I must say that this TV is great. I had been researching for months on all other HDTV's out there for around the $2,200 price range, and the Sony just seemed to beat all of the other completion out there.
Reoccurring Problem with KP51ws500 by mullet69 ,Aug 08 '04
Pros: Great TV and picture when functioning Cons: A real let down based on price and expectation
Purchased widescreen in October 2002. 4 months later, widescreen developed the dreaded flickering problem with a "yellowish" splash that would randomly show . CRTs replaced and the problem has started to reoccur yet once again. Recently (August 2004) two oval blue lines show at the bottom and top of the screen and the TV "start-up" time has slowed drastically. Will be calling Sony again requesting that the problems be rectified.
The picture quality with my... by patrick_dt3001 ,Dec 30 '02
The picture quality with my DirecTV system is great, but the quality of the picture when I connected to my progessive scan DVD player was beyond words. The speakers with this TV delivery great sound with surprising bottom. The reasons I went with this TV are the Sony name and the DVI connection.
