Pros: Price, frequency response, good features Cons: Size, auto-off, manual
First off, my home theater that I have built was definitely built on a budget, so obviously, price was of importance. I own some large front 12 inch KLH speakers that actually go down to about 30hz, which is the same frequency that most subs actually go ...
Pros: Loud! good concussion, Enriches your theater experience. Very well built. Cons: boomy on music
I certainly can't expect much for what I paid... $62. That was a steal from Sears Liquidation Center. I've never been quite satisfied with my subwoofers. Up to now, I've had 8" subs. I have a JBL 100w, a Yamaha 80W, and a Kenwood passive sub in a big ...
Pros: Value! Great bass that's clean and tight for music and just awesome for home theater! Cons: If anything at all it would be a choice of finish.
Just put together a new home theater system and after reading the reviews of this sub I needed to see and hear for myself. Went to BestBuy and found one on the floor hooked up in a demo rig and spent a little time playing around. While there I got to ...
Pros: -Ground shaking bass
-Great clarity and response
-EXCELLENT price Cons: could be a little too big for some, other than that none
I bought this sub for $107 on sale from best buy. I have a RCA RT2360 Home Theater system and I decided I needed a little more in the bottom end department. I was immediately attracted to the size of the driver (12") and the price. Also anyone that has ...
This Subwoofer is by far the best you can buy for $199.99 at Best Buy. This 12" house shaker has enough concussion in each thumping, pound of bass to make the floor beneath you jolt. Regardless if you are a movie watcher or a music lover you will not be ...
Pros: Not too expensive; loud, bass-y? Cons: None really, it says Sony on it, so audiophiles will second guess it
For christmas, I didnt know what I wanted, so I got this to go with my makeshift home theater system. Some old hand-me-down sony SA-VA3 towers, the satellites they came with, and (at the time) an 80's JVC tv; all I care, is it works. The tower's have a ...
Pros: - 150 watts of room-shaking power
- quality constructed cabinet Cons: - Some ugly soldering on the inside
- A bit boomy for a small room
I bought two of these subs back in 2004 for my home theater on the LFE channel. One sub just didn't cut it for the big living room. In fact, I was so impressed with how well one performed, that I bought the other. Then I was really blown away. I'll ...
Pros: Good price, Great sound. Cons: None yet but don't know about durability.
I went to Best Buy yesterday to buy a subwoofer. I checked one of audio demo rooms and listened to several smaller subs that were about $300-$1000. I wasn't satisfied with the sound of any of them. The subs in the other demo room were $500 and up and I ...
Pros: If you are able to spend twice the price, go for the SA-WM500. Cons: None
I recently bought and exchanged the Sony SA-WM250 subwoofer for the Sony SA-WM500 due to several deficiencies the former had. Besides the SA-WM500 having a 150 watt amp as opposed to a 100 watt amp, and a 12" speaker, as opposed to an 8" speaker, the ...
Pros: Nice deep base sound, auto-power feature Cons: None.
I just purchased this subwoofer on sale for $150.00.
Short and sweet, this is an excellent subwoofer, great sound, and does its job nicely.
Not sure why 'eastcoasthandl' had such difficult with installation (perhaps the receiver doesn't process the subwoofer pre-out the sames as mine). I'm using this subwoofer in conjunction with a Sony STR-DE995 receiver and I only needed to connect the subwoofer pre-out to the the sub. I had no need to touch my speakers. Works perfectly.
The power save feature is great and works flawlessly. I've never had a problem with it shutting down prematurely during movies, music, or TV.
this sub will shake your whole living room, and at under $199...what a deal!!!!!!! i am going to order another one,and add it to the other side of my living room, for even more room shaking bass..... this is truly a great sub......
Pros: Hits hard. Excellent bang for the buck even if you pay $199 at BB. Cons: none yet.
I bought the Sony SA WX700 dual 10" 250w sub and was not impressed.I traded it in for the SA WM500. It works better than the WX700 in my opinion.
I now have two WM500's and my 16'x20' Home Theater thumps for music and movies. (Paid $129 plus $35 S&H each)
I have them connected to the L & R pre outs on my Yamaha HTR 5760 I found this method better than using the Sub out. (provided your front speakers are set to "large" in your receiver menu)
My front speakers are Yamaha NS 555 towers and the combo works very well. The opening beach scene in Saving Private Ryan sounds better than the theater. The explosions thump your chest
If you're looking at a $500 sub. Do yourself a favor and get two of these instead and save some money to boot.
Excellent deal when paired with a good set of speakers
