Beware of Toshiba Large Screen TV's by ttfn59 ,Nov 28 '03
Pros: none Cons: Poor quality
I purchase this set and after 2 years it broke. The repair has so far taken 7 weeks and it still hasn't been fixed. They said it is because of the poor quality of the parts made at the factory. Beware. I will never buy their products again.
after doing a lot of research into purchasing a tv in the $1500 - $2200 range this is the best tv for the money. comes ready for dvi hd receivers which i here may become standard thanks to hollywood. (stops piracy of movies). sound could be an issue if you don't have home theater surround sound. there may be hiss when the volume is turned down lower than a third of the way. this supposedly can be fixed. if you have home theater it won't matter anyway. picture quality is amazing with hd and still very good with regular cable. does the best job of any tv in this price range with converting full screen images into widescreen without distorting the picture. THIS IS THE BEST 50 INCH TV ON THE MARKET FOR THIS PRICE.
