Pros: Multitude of features, only one phone jack needed Cons: Button layout
We bought the Uniden DCT 6465-2 in December 2004 at a Sears store for around $90. We have had several cordless phones over the years, and most have crashed and burned. I usually give a cooling off period of about six months before I right an Epinion ...
Pros: Price, features Cons: Takes three buttons to mute conversation; walkie-talkie feature is quite limited in distance
I started out with a $60 AT&T cordless phone and base with built-in answering machine. I was highly displeased. Do they not test their own products with real people? Sheesh. So then I get this Uniden set at Sam's Club. Three great handsets plus a ...
Pros: Dual handsets, great battery life, many features, speakerphone and hands-free headset included. Cons: Small buttons, sound quality could be better.
I bought the Uniden cordless phone set at Costco for $70 about 1.5 months ago and so far I am happy with my purchase. I had two separate (cheap, $15 each) cordless phones and the batteries quickly stopped holding a charge. I've tried the replacement ...
Pros: Sleek design, lots of nice features Cons: Speaker phone poorly designed
After going through 3 phones in as many years I was determined to buy a decent quality phone, but not spend an outrageous amount of money. We have lost (or almost lost) two of those phones due to lightning-caused power surges, so I didn't want to be out ...
Pros: Well designed user interface, plenty of features, easy to use, looks great. Cons: Would like to see volume control buttons on side of handset. No dedicated mute button.
I've gone through 2 VTech Cordless phones in the last 2 years. Both have had serious design problems. The first had a headset with a low volume for caller voices but a deafening volume for the DTFM tones. The other VTech phone had recharging problems ...
I purchased this phone 2 years ago and it has performed very well! I have not had to replace the batteries they still hold their charge. I am now looking to replace the phone system as I work from home and require good sound on both incoming and ...
Pros: battery life, features Cons: sound quality!!!
This phone has lots of features and the battery has a long life -- but the sound quality is terrible, both outgoing and incoming. And isn't that the whole POINT of a phone?? I often can hear an echo of my voice when I speak, which is extremely distracting. Friends and family say that the voice quality and clarity are extremely poor. And use of speaker phone compounds the problems 10-fold. I will never buy another Uniden.
Great sounding phone with no answering machine by bhander ,Sep 02 '05
Pros: Good range, clarity and volume Cons: None
I bought this phone refurbished from ecost about 6 months ago for $40. I'm a bit hard of hearing, but have had no problem hearing with either cordless phone that came with it. The ring equivalency is only .08 and it works great with my Packet8 VOIP system. It's expandable to 4 phones total and this week OfficeMax had the expansion phones offered at $25 each, with a buy 2 get one free deal. Caller-id retains the last 100 incoming calls. Nice and lightweight and good range anywhere in my rather large backyard.
For three years, we were happy users of the Vtech 2431 2.4GHz cordless phones. The speakerphones worked well and they sounded good, but we lost a few handsets and the battery started to die on another.
After reviewing the feature sets of various cordless phones, the Uniden's seemed to have the most extensive set of features....and they looked great. And I'd had Uniden 900MHz (DSS) digital spread spectrum phones in the past and they worked great.
So we bought the new Uniden and we immediately we noticed that about half the time, there was static and drop-outs between the upstairs phone and basement basestation. In three years, our V-Tech's never hiccuped under the same conditions. To make matters worse, the phone actually dropped the connection to the base station when the microwave oven was in operation.
When we tried the handset speakerphone. There was so much echo that the party on the other end tried calling back. The echo was still there on the second call. Out of curiosity, (on the same call) we switched over the the old V-Tech handset speakerphone and BINGO...echo was gone.
In short, the performance of the phone is unacceptable.
Pros: Cute little phones with lots of features. Cons: Disapointed by poor longevity.
We bought this phone from Costco less than a year ago and now they do not work. One problem is the interference from my wifi network (Netgear brand) on the same frequency range.
The other problem is that the handset speaker quit working. I think it is related to poor contacts in the headphone jack.
The buttons are too small and the caller id history scroll buttons are also the ringer volume control so if you forget to press caller id before the arrow buttons then you may wake your sleeping kids by accident.
Lots of nifty features that we never seem to use.
Good lighting and OK range (when wifi router is unplugged).
These things really should last longer than a year.
