Pros: Incredible price for what you get, Excellent color/resolution, Near reference quality picture, 2 HDMI inputs. Cons: No integrated tuner or cablecard slot. No DVI inputs.
This review marks my first epinion in at least a year. Real life stepped in and made my life somewhat difficult for a while, but now Im back - and ready to jump right back into the review pool. Bear in mind that this purchase was a difficult one ...
Pros: Incredible Picture!
Superb Size and Price
Multiple Inputs Cons: Fan Noise
No Tuner
Not Quite as Good As Pioneer, But Close!
While I'm not a super audio/visual techno-guru, I ooh and ahh with the best of them when it comes to seeing the incredible clarity of high def on a good set. When it's good, it's like looking out a window. The Vizio P50HD is right up there on the ooh ...
Pros: Extremely cost effective with great picture quality Cons: Lacks a couple bells and whistles that other pricier sets will have.
***EDIT UPDATE*** it's now only $1960 at Costco. WOW! I heard about the Visio on AVSForum.com after initially looking for a 50" Panasonic. I was pretty committed to buying only from a Costco (great price and great return policy) and the Panasonic just ...
Pros: Great price, huge TV, integrated wireless surround sound Cons: Muddled video quality, weak surround sound, bad burn-in
We picked up the Vizio 50" TV with integrated wireless surround sound from Costco for $1500. We'd been looking for a larger TV and a wireless surround sound system and getting both for that price was a deal we couldn't pass up. Setup Setup ...
Pros: Great picture, great value, sound better than expected. Cons: The screen gets REALLY hot after a few hours.
I bought this for my hubby for father's day, and he loves it! Costco has a $100 off coupon until June 22, so it was only $1504 with tax...can't beat it! And they give 90 days to return and extend the warranty to 2 years!I did a lot of research, and ...
Vizio Plasma last less than 2yr by rmdtote99fd ,Jan 08 '08
Pros: Seems like a nice price Cons: Does not last, after your repairs, Price not that good
I have had my Vizio 50" plasma for less than 2 years and it has gone bad. After searching several other web sites I noticed that more than a few people have had the same problem. It made a Loud pop and the screen went dark. I called Tech support and they told me the sypmtoms before I could explain. They have an obvious KNOWN issue. Oh, they said it would cost $780 to fix it
Very Happy with this Purchase by mcpdjohn ,May 24 '06
Pros: Price, picture, resolution, audio, low fan noise Cons: not crazy about the layout of the remote
I bought the Vizio P50HD two months ago and mounted it on the wall above the fireplace. This TV is outstanding in picture, audio, and design. There is no downside unless you want to blame it for not having a tuner. The picture (especially in HD) is so good that I am amazed again and again, every time I watch it. One would think that after a while you would just take it for granted but I haven't yet. I still marvel at it. A month after I bought mine, my brother bought one for himself as well. And he is equally happy with his. This TV appears to be the sweet spot in the market where quality and affordablity converge. Thanks to Costco for carrying such a great, affordable product. By the way, the price on this monitor just dropped to $1999. I paid $2299 and thought that was a good deal!
Pros: Great price, great picture, everything you need/nothing you don't. Cons: Obscure brand, possible reliability concerns, attached speakers (not removable).
I bought this TV to replace the Sony 27" I reviewed several years ago. Finally made the leap into HD -- could not resist this television at this price, especially since it is now being replaced with a model that has an HD tuner for $50 more (which I do not need). The television supports 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i, which will meet my needs for quite some time. Plenty of inputs -- especially nice that there are two component, two HDMI, AND RGB. Setup is easy and the picture is great. I've read that other plasmas have a better picture, but unless you're REALLY fussy about that, you can't beat the size/feature set for the price. Supposedly these sets had a noisy fan problem in the past -- I have had no such problems. TV looks and works great, little or no glare. You may run into problems using this television with other remotes, as the codesets for Vizio are either nonexistent or too new to be used in other components' universal remotes. However, the functions are learnable to a learning remote if you use one.
Pros: Great picture, price. Cons: Sound, high return rate
I bought this from Costco at 1999.99. For the price ,the picture is outstanding. Sound is sub-par, but With an inexpensive surround sound system, it's great. I would recomend it.
I work for Costco and I do see alot of these returned. If you get it from Costco, not a problem. But if you don't you might have repair problems.
A bit pricey for 3 years of function by wellaimed ,May 13 '09
Pros: Great picture, when it works. Nice design. Several inputs. Cons: No longevity.
We got my in-laws this TV for Christmas 2005. In January 2009, it made a pop & quit working. They spent $ 800 to replace two of the major boards inside, just to have it pop & quit again in May 2009. The tech said that there is something inside that is making the set burn out. Now, we have to go buy a new TV, because even if the tech fixes it, it will burn out again in another few months, because of the flaw in the mechanical design.
