Pros: Nice color, elegant design, backlit keypad with nice layout, speakerphone in handset Cons: Poor earpiece sound, no speed dial, slow keypad/no beeps, UNACCEPTABLE BATTERY LIFE!
I purchased this phone for my home office. We needed an expandable handset system, since we only have one jack for the business line in our home and need to be able to answer calls from upstairs. We had a perfectly functional Uniden TRU-448, for ...

Pros: Feature rich, low price, average sound quality. Cons: Weak belt clip, battery, painted plastic, Vtech=durable?
After going through 3 different Panasonic cordless phones in the last 6 years, all with very disappointing outcomes, I decided to try a new manufacturer. Last on my list was Vetch when I started doing research. By the time I was finished evaluating ...

Pros: features Cons: may need to buy directly from manufacturer to get a good battery
I bought this phone for its features, including the speaker phone capability from either the base unit or the handset, and the headset compatibility. I work from home and on conference calls all day long, so it's critical that I have a functioning phone. ...

Great features. Unacceptable battery life
by w2wsl ,Sep 07 '04
Pros: Great features, including speaker phone.
Possibity of second handset very useful. Cons: Unacceptable battery life.
I was looking for a cordless phone with the possibility of a second handset. A workable speaker phone was a desirable feature. The 2651 seemed to fit the bill, and it has lived up to all our expections except for battery life.
Sadly, battery life is unacceptable. My wife coordinates volunteers at our local library, and after an hour or so on the phone the low battery signal pops up. At first we thought it was a bad battery, but we have the same problem with a second hand set.

Good value
by schwa99 ,Apr 19 '04
Pros: Sound quality good, dual speakerphone and keypad make it very convenient - no giant antenna. Cons: I hate the silver plasticy feel, and the handset could be more comfortable
I found the sound quality pretty good and the person at the other end said it sounded fine.
I have the base station right next to the computer monitor but I don't notice any interference from that or the Microwave oven. I dont have wi-fi, so I dont know about that.
I stopped trying to find a model with ans machine with decent time and speakerphone and dual keypad that I could tolerate. I have a separate ans machine and it works fine with it.
The speaker phone on base with with keypad is very convenient. Most the phone sits in its charger and I use the speaker, but I like be able to walk around if I have to.
For $59 at Staples, you cant complain (much).

Battery life sucks
by mfoley144 ,Nov 26 '03
Pros: Nice look and feel, good sound Cons: Battery life is absolutely unacceptable
I have now had 2 VT2651's I returned the 1st when the battery needed recharging after 1 hour of talk time, figuring it was a defect. I am now about to return the 2nd one, I charged the phone for 3 days and when I began to use it, it was off the cradle for approx. 3hours in standby mode (not talking on it). I made 3 calls lasting a total of maybe an hour, and all of a sudden the battery is dead again!....
I like the look and feel of the phone, but I use it in my home office, and the battery life is totally useless.
