Pros: Small, lightweight, lots of memory, easy to use Cons: Hokey menu system, can't offload mp3 files, expensive
I bought this player on Black Friday while fighting the insane hoardes at Best Buy. At a glance, the features that caught my attention were that it had an FM Tuner, a Line Input, AND could do direct MP3 encoding from either of these sources. Now that ...
Pros: Tons of memory, lots of options, attractive design, light and small, long battery life Cons: Needs pretty unstable uploading program, impossible to download uploaded MP3 files from player
't Was the day after Thanksgiving, and I managed to snag one of these little marvels along with at $100 mail-in-rebate before the other shoppers got to it. I had been thinking about buying a MP3 player for a long time. I wanted to use my MP3 player a lot ...
Pros: size, screen, iRiver firmware updates, features, included accessories Cons: somewhat confusing menu navigation, WMA playback not 100% yet, battery life could be better
First, let me start out by saying that the major con listed in the other two reviews here is a totally moot point. iRiver released a "UMS" firmware back in June 2003 that converts the player from using the proprietary iRiver download application to a ...
Pros: -Small and light
-Good amount of storage
-FM receiver
-Uses AA batterys
-Easy to navigate Cons: -Battery life not what is claimed
-Comes with cheap arm band
-Somewhat expensive
This player has been great for me. Pretty much what I expected when I purchased it. I use it in the gym and while snowboarding. I chose this over the iPod for two reasons, 1)it is NOT rechargeable, and 2) it gets FM radio. Since I use it in the gym ...
Pros: Small, lot's of features and sounds good. Cons: The lack of being able to install more memory. But really, 512 meg is excellent!
Excellent FM reception, 512 Meg of storage, small size and well thought out design. This is my third MP3 purchase (Archos MMJB & RIO S50 are the others) and I think iRiver has the perfect MP3 player on it's hands! Radio reception is MUCH better than the R ...
Pros: Long battery life(over 17hrs per battery), lightweight, small, excellent armband, FM radio! Cons: .
Have had it for 2 months now and am extremely satisfied. It is easy to use once you get the hang of it. I love having so much music available in such a small lightweight device that can be worn with the armband. I use it at the gym and when attached to ...
Pros: Size, Recording from the radio, Battery Life, 512MB Cons: Not firewire or usb 2.0, Arm strap is not for everyone.
I think this is by far one of the best MP3 players out there. Sure it's only 512MB, but if you don't want something big like an IPod this is perfect. It's small and sounds great. The FM tuner is a great option. Being able to record voice and radio is...
Pros: Holds lots of mp3s and still has room for computer files. Cons: Haven't found any yet.
I got this as a present and it's the best thing I've ever owned regarding music. It can hold MP3s and even store files on it. It's a groovy little device and with half a gig of storage space for mp3s and files I am one satisfied customer. :-)
Pros: nice battery life, lcd, holds alot of songs Cons: not durable, breaks easily
ok let me start out by sayin the player was very nice in the begining but after puting it in my back pack and in a suitcase and stuff it got pretty ruined. The little joy stick wouldnt adujst the sound so i returned and my new one after like 2months broke again and wouldnt go into the main song menu and they wouldnt return it plus it was too much to repair so i just said screw it and now im buying a ipod mini which is supposed take away all the problems that i had with the last one so i hope this helps. I mean if you are just going to use it for running and walking its awesome but if u go to school it is going to get ruined
Pros: Thumb drive firmware. Built in MP3 Encoder. Cons: Needs USB Cable. Replace included earbuds.
I upgraded to the IRiver 395T in May 04 after using a Creative Labs Muvo 128MB since Dec 02 and it's been working fine.
Initially, the software to load MP3s was the worse. And you couldnt copy MP3s off. I updated the firmware so it now acts like a thumb drive. Just Drag and Drop, On AND Off.
But thumb drive mode wont play licensed WMA and licensed MP3s. The easy way around that is to use the 395Ts built in MP3 encoder and record the songs straight into its memory as MP3. Then youre GTG. No more fumbling with licenses.
The multi-function buttons took a long time to learn and Im still not sold on the joystick.
Immediately replaced the included earbuds with Sony Headphones and it sounds great. The volume is not as good as my Muvo though.
Easy to turn on and off.
AA Battery has great life.
+ Drag and Drop MP3 load with thumb drive firmware upgrade.
+ Great size.
+ Good volume.
+ Built in MP3 recorder. Removes license problems.
+ AA Battery has great life.
- Needs USB Cable instead of direct plug and play.
- Replace included Earbuds.
