Pros: The food and drink prices are relatively inexpensive. You can carry two beers per person. Cons: Hard to find. Sun shines in your eyes. Dirty and trashy people.
It started out just like any other day. I was 5 minutes late to work, and decided to sneak in the back entrance. Luckily I had left early the day before and left my computer running to it appeared that I was in the office. After some water cooler chit ...
Pros: Grass Field, Great view from anywhere in the stadium. Amenities in surrounding area. Cons: Hot,uncomfortable seats, miserable restrooms, inadequate food service.
It is September and it's 101 degrees. Today is the Cardinals first home game of the season and I am optimistic. Armed with bottled water, I have begun the two block hike to Sun Devil stadium. Despite what people may say, one does NOT get used to the heat...
Pros: Nice weather since it is in Arizona, views of field OK Cons: Parking, seating, Food selection, the product on field
Its a shame that the Arizona Cardinals are the only NFL team to be playing in a stadium that's designed only for college athletics. Its also a shame that the Cards are the laughing stock of the NFL not only because of its less than mediocre product on...
Pros: Ticket cost, site lines, ticket availability Cons: Parking, seating, food cost and selection, exits
For the residents of the Valley of the Sun, there can't be a better way to spend a sunny 110 degree autumn afternoon than catching a Chicago...er....St. Louis...I...I mean Arizona Cardinals game in Sun Devil Stadium. That is, if you are about...
Pros: decent seating, atmosphere and price Cons: pathetic parking, food and restroom facilities
Sun Devil Stadium was built in 1957. While boasting a large seating capacity of over 73,000 (recently expanded), Sun Devil Stadium nevertheless suffers from average location and seating arrangements to inadequate restroom facilities and poor parking...
The whole Arizona Cardinals stadium controversy that permeates the news here in the Valley of the Sun cracks me up. The Bidwills (owners of the Cardinals) perpetually whine about not having a decent park to play in. They complain that it's too hot for...
Pros: Good location Cons: cramped, bathrooms are terrible
People usually advise you to drink plenty of water in the Arizona desert. Going to a game at Sun Devil stadium is the exception. If you drink water (or beer) here, you are going to regret it the when it comes time to go to the bathroom.
Pros: Nice weather, grass surface. Cons: Concessions a little pricey.
Sun Devil Stadium, built in 1958, in Tempe Arizona is home to two football teams. You can either watch the Arizona State Sun Devils, or you can see a home game for the NFL's Arizona Cardinals.
The stadium itself is nice, not fancy, not state of...
Pros: Long-term benefit to team and community Cons: Initial cost to taxpayers
It's always a contentious subject, but it's not accurate to say that new stadiums are a guarantee of being a flop after the first year or so. Take a look at places like Cleveland (Jacobs Field), Toronto (Skydome), and Indianapolis (the RCA Dome and...
In Arizona, there are a few things. One of them is the hot hot sun, and the other is the Sun Devil Stadium! You haven't seen football unless you've seen it in 100 Degree weather! If you're ever in town during the Football season, come to the...
Pros: Fun fans, good view around the stadium. Cons: Little real support for the team, atmosphere is minor league.
I have been to two games in this stadium - one Cardinals-Rams contest the year the Rams moved to St. Louis, and a Cardinals-Cowboys tilt. Both times, it seemed that the stands were at least half-and-half. A lot of Angelinos made the trip from LA to see the team that left town. Cards' fans are tolerant of fans of other teams, perhaps in part because their own club generally loses, and in cases of teams like the Cowboys they are almost outnumbered. It seems strange to me that in a city with an NFL team, there is often more merchandise in stores for other teams than there is for the home squad. This is the only NFL city where I have seen this, and I have been to several.
Cardinal fans were fun to hang with. The beer was cold (thankfully, because it was 98 degrees at the Rams game) but there were few amenities, at least by NFL standards.
