Pros: Great series and original movies. New movie every Saturday night. Cons: Violence, nudity, profanity (where children are concerned). $10 extra
It seems that each time we write the cable bill check to Cablevision, my wife and I debate canceling HBO. And each time, we start naming the programming that HBO delivers and decide that it's worth the extra $9.95 per month.

Pros: Great idea Cons: episodes too short, short seasons
New York City that is. Unfortunately it is not happening in my city, hence, I am writing about it.
This show is in hiatus until June. Sex and the City airs at 9:00 pm Sunday evenings. This is the reason to put the kids to bed early and hey...

Pros: Very realistic look at life in Appalachia Cons: I feel two people were somewhat exploited
Now, this is “reality television”.
A friend of mine told me last week that HBO was running a documentary called American Hollow, which depicts the lives of a family living in Eastern Kentucky. My first response to her...

Pros: Witty, fast- paced dialogue, crisp scenes, realistic characters Cons: Not able to watch it with your kids
I had heard about two shows called The Sopranos and Sex and The City on HBO. In search of a TV program to entertain me for the time before watching The Practice at 10 PM on Sundays, I started watching Sex and The City. ...

Pros: Original programming geared toward those with the ability to think. Cons: Paying for this extravaganza of glitzy sitcoms, dramas and soft porn.
I never dreamed my addiction would come in handy. My affinity for the HBO series “OZ” led me to write this virtual love letter to those responsible for giving me so much pleasure in manageable one-hour doses. Finally, an opportunity to share my...

Pros: Very entertaining moments.... Superb performance by James Gandolfini. Cons: Violence, language, etc etc etc., they make New Jersey look pretty gritty!
The Sopranos on HBO has been in the news a lot this season, mainly because it has won all those awards for last Season. I see why they can't have this show on regular cable...it's a little violent, a little language, and a little of every other evil...

Pros: Original, Complicated Story Lines, Unique Perspective Cons: Graphic Violence.
Home Box Office has become the prominent alternative to mainstream "commercial" television serial programming. HBO has the advantage of being able to maintain cutting edge programming free of the restrictions often placed on commercial...

Pros: Funny adult entertainment Cons: You either love or hate Larry
If you are 40 something, or a comic enthusiast, you may remember the comic army character Sad Sack. Sad Sack was a private who managed to get himself in trouble over the most trivial things on a daily basis. You were frustrated with him-you empathized...

Pros: Saturday Night Guarantee Cons: some of the HBO produced shows
I have been a subscriber of HBO for many years now and have mixed feelings about their service. Through the years I feel that HBO has moved their focus from purchasing the rights to broadcast premium movies first to more HBO produced sitcoms and...

Pros: the best original series, tons of movies Cons: costs extra with our cable, but it's worth it!
That's right! "It's not TV, it's HBO!" I think that's a good slogan for HBO since they have, in my opinion, the very best original series as well as the newest and best movies.
What is it?

Pros: Sex and the City: The best reason to have HBO! Cons: Runs a very short season. Shows are only 30 minutes.
For the most outrageous, unpredictable, and entertaining adult show on television, check out HBO's Sex and the City. I've been watching this hilarious show since its inception and nearly every week I gasp, "I can't believe they said that!"...

"Man may have discovered fire, but women discovered how to play with it."

Imagine four women, congregating over designer coffee and low-fat pastries. One is an accomplished...

Pros: Former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani was the perfect person to narrate. Cons: Some of the images are difficult to watch.
Preamble
In the past, all that Memorial Day meant to me was that I got a nice three day weekend. How's that for brutal honesty? I was too young to remember Vietnam and the "conflicts" that occurred in the 80's and 90's were merely a blip on...

Pros: Hilarious, you may find yourself in one of these characters, should be the BIBLE for single men Cons: Only 1/2 hour...should be longer
My husband and I have been married for over three years, I work full-time and he goes to school full-time, and we have a two-year-old son. That doesn't make for a very active dating life for the two of us. However, we do have a regular date once a...

Pros: wonderful, innovative material Cons: it costs a little
HBO is by far the best channel I have on my TV. I know they have been around a long time, but unlike many others they continue to get better with age. Besides showing movies, since their conception they have included some wonderful comedy specials. I...
