Pros: You will be prepared rain or shine Cons: none
I like being prepared. So I watch the weather channel before I go to bed at night. I have family all over the states and like knowing what is going on where they live. This channel is very informative especially when there are hurricanes, tornadoes, or...

Pros: It's on the 8's Cons: satillite don't give local forcasts
I am so glad that I'm not the only one that can sit there and watch this channel for a long time everyday. So what if it shows the same thing over and over. It's exciting to see when a change does happen.
I am also interested in what the...

Pros: eventually you get the local forecast Cons: local forecast is not continuous, old storm footage, too much event coverage
The Weather Channel. I don't know about you, but when I need to know the weather--it's probably just before I'm about to walk out the door. If you're trying to find this on the Weather Channel, it's likely you're going to have to wait awhile. Your local...

Pros: Excellent Coverage Cons: National, rather than Local
The Weather Channel is the greatest network for meteorology. It's incredibly original as a network to have 24 hour a day weather, but it's a success. First of all, it deals with a national level, with Travel Forecasts and nation forecasts. Every 10...

Pros: Covers the whole U.S., on 24 hours a day Cons: Cannot give you detailed local information
The Weather Channel is an excellent source of weather information...no question about it. There is, though, something to keep in mind when you watch it: The Weather Channel is covering a lot of real estate...the entire United States. The only way you're...

Pros: It is there when you need it. Cons: It doesn't focus only on your local area like the local news channels.
I don't know how everyone else feels about it, but when it starts looking cloudy I love to turn to the Weather Channel and find out at my convenience why. I know that they give warnings and weather reports on other channels, but who want to wait and hear...

Weather Channel Rocks!
by bsabers ,Dec 05 '06
Pros: Excellent local forecasts, top notch Meteorologists Cons: lack of radars shown late at night
If there was one channel that I could never do without it would without a doubt be The Weather Channel. From the detailed local forecasts to the outstanding coverage during hurricane season, The Weather Channel just doesn't miss a beat. One of the greatest features of the channel is the "Local on the 8s" These are local forecasts for the specific viewers area, and they occur every 10 minutes when the clock strikes an 8. These local forecasts provide you with an outlook for the next couple of days, as well as a local radar which can tell you if there is some rain or possibly snow around. The Weather Channel has really improved over the years, and is now ranked very high on a lot of people's list of favorite channels. They get a 10/10 in my books!
