Alitalia Breakfast in Britain - Brunch in Bologne - Baggage in Bombay

by travelgall Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 05 '03
Pros: Look, I'm trying OK! Oh yeah - they aren't Air France.
Cons: Disappearing stewardesses, Cramped aircraft, lousy food, worse timekeeping.
The Airports Heathrow is never fun to traverse at the best of times, but there is a lot of shopping and stuff to do - as you'd expect from the world's busiest International airport. Getting to it is easy as you have a choice of the Tube (Nightmare with ...

_Alitalia:_ We don't care. Really.

by telynor Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Oct 28 '09
Pros: Not a one. Get an American airline instead.
Cons: General air of filth. Rude staff. Bring your own meals if possible.
It used to be that traveling by air meant a certain measure of comfort. The plane would be clean, the seat reasonably comfortable, and certain amenities would be there. Toss in the feature that the airline is that of Italy, a country famous for a certain ...

The National Airline of Italy

by foxfield , Nov 10 '00
Pros: excellent food, reasonable price, relaible, the national airline of italy
Cons: no television on board
When deciding what airline to fly to Italy with I looked at all the different companies. I wasn't to bothered about who I flew with as long as the price was right. I looked at Aer Lingus and British Airways both though were very expensive. So then I...

Experts in misplacing your luggage?

by ajrs , Dec 04 '06
Pros: Good international flights.
Cons: They will loose your luggage, they won't find it and they won't even help.
I have flown a lot in lots of companies (Iberia, Alitalia, Continental, Northwest, United, Air Canada, Westjet, KLM, British Airways and Air France). The ones I like the most are the European ones, my favorites are Iberia, KLM, British Airways and ...

Nice flights; good check-in facilities, comfortable

by samiambar , Sep 15 '03
Pros: Reliable, quick check-in with nice efficient agents, relatively friendly crews.
Cons: Luggage problems on connecting flights, no coffee/tea, minimal food on domestic flights.
We flew on Alitalia in economy class on a 1 hour 20 minute domestic flight between Rome and Catania, Sicily. We were making a connection in Rome and were advised to give ourselves sufficient time to pick-up and re-check our bags,as Alitalia and Rome and M ...

Alitalia Magnifica class is fantastic!

by weierich , Aug 08 '04
Pros: Service, comfort, luggage efficiency (believe it or not!)
Cons: had to check 22in bag
A caveat: this review likely will not pertain to economy class, but for those of you who have the cash or flyer miles for the upgrade... read on! I flew Alitalia in Magnifica class (Boeing 777) from New York JFK to Rome overnight, and again returning ...

Cheap but don't try to get comfortable

by judithnorman , Mar 04 '02
Pros: Cheap, on time, good safety record
Cons: Old planes with cramped seats
This is the second time I have used Alitalia for an overseas flight and some things haven't improved much since 1996!! Unfortunately, tour companies LOVE to book their clients on this airline because it is a great way to keep the costs down.

Old Horse Traveling Transatlantic - A Story Of One Trip

by rabodzey Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jun 11 '07
Pros: Cheap flights and good coverage in EU, good alliance partners via SkyTeam
Cons: Unreliable sevice, old plains, irresponsible crews, short connections, poor logistics, lost luggages
I love Italy; it is a unique place where culture intertwines with history whose deep roots go back thousands of years. When you fly to Milan’s Malpensa Airport, you clearly see the face of Italy: mode haute couture and Ferrari. Well if these are the ...

by naphtalia Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Aug 16 '00
Pros: the plane didn't crash
Cons: no customer service
Several of us recently arrived in Israel to take part in a university program. One gentleman came with his wife and a 3 year-old son in tow. Alitalia lost five out of six of their checked bags. Arriving in Israel on Friday night, they were unable to go...

Must you fly Alitalia airlines? Then get a co-op flight.

by elsa70 , Dec 03 '01
Pros: Pilots and fares
Cons: A travel agent's nightmare, and sometimes a passenger's as well
I have been selling Alitalia for a very, very long time, because unfortunately, in Italy where I live and work, Alitalia is by far the largest airline, also because of the Italian government's involvement (it's the biggest stockholder and weren't it for...

Alitalia is horrendous, dishonest, mendacious and an international disgrace

by captainsmart , Jan 05 '08
Pros: None whatsoever. I'll go to Italy via rowboat before I fly Alitalia again.
Cons: Read the letter. Waiting to be reimbursed going on 6 months.
What follows is a letter which I presented in person at the Alitalia offices in New York (in the historic Empire State Building), on June 8, 2007. It is now January 4, 2008, and I have yet to receive a response, in spite of countless phone calls, ...

A Flying Sardine Can

by rwoolf , Aug 19 '06
Pros: i arrived at my destination in one piece
Cons: late, inefficent boarding process, bad food, no entertainment
I wish I'd been allowed to operate a video camera on-board during the 11 hour Alitalia flight I took from Chicago to Milan, because if I had been able to do so, I would've been the first person in history to videotape a flying sardine can, and the money ...
