Pros: Cheap Cons: Billions
Taca is the #1 Worst Airline for the following reasons:
1. They are thieves - employees of Taca stole my brother's passport and wallet, forcing him to spend 2 days stuck in Honduras. They did not compensate him for hotel or any out of pocket...

Pros: none that I can think of. Cons: Too many to list here. read my review.
Living in Central America avails me with few options as to air travel within Central America and up to Miami. Therefore I have been forced to fly Grupo Taca on many occasions, always experiencing aggravations.
1. They cancel flights without notice...

Pros: Good free food and friendly flight attendance. Cons: Rude and almost violent, airport staff.
I strongly don’t recommend any kind of experience with TACA !!!!My wife and I travelled in June, from Sao Paulo (Brazil) to San Jose (Costa Rica), with a stop in Lima (Peru). Many problems occurred, some of them, very serious. First of all, when the ...

Pros: cheap price (but not much less than others) Cons: Poor ticket change and refund service
I purchased tickets for a Christmas trip from Chicago to Costa Rica via Travelocity on TACA / Lacsa airlines.
2 weeks after the purchase and still 3 months prior to the trip, I was notified that my outbound leg had been changed for one 2 days...

Pros: There were no pros Cons: Bad service, rude, attitude, not helpful
Taca lost my bags then my husbands. Had no clothes for a week in Costa Rica. It was impossible to get any help, I don't speak Spanish. I finally got my bags back the day after I returned home. Turns out my bags never left LAX. It somehow wound up in ...

Pros: Traveling with an airline that specializes in Central America, some good deals Cons: Crowded, average food
My husband and I recently took a trip to El Salvador from Dulles Airport in Washington, DC. We traveled TACA because it was non-stop and the best priced deal. If you use TACA for a similar trip, I recommend going through travel agents that cater to the...

Pros: They have NONE! Cons: Blatant lies/misrepresentations to induce you onto their carrier and miserable customer service.
We have flown this airline to Costa Rica many times and their seating assignments and customer service are a complete disaster. In 2004, they insisted our 3 MONTH old daughter be seated away from us. Because of this, when making reservations this year, ...

Pros: good employees, respect for clients Cons: none
We Americans are an impatient and unforgiving lot; no airline can possibly please us all. I have flown TACA many times before and have been disappointed on more than one occasion. Flight delays of up to over 24 hours, mechanical difficulties, etc....

Pros: Cheaper airfare, great service Cons: Not many direct flights from the US
Myself and family flew TACA from Texas to Costa Rica. Our flight made a connection in Guatamala. I had read some posts about lost luggage and obtained traveler's insurance just in case.
Our experience was very positive. The crew was very...

Pros: few Cons: customer support
I fly to central america every now and them and my plea to people is not to use this airline if you do not want to see your luggage for three days or or get excuses as to why the plane is overbooked, and have to be bumped to the following night. while...

Pros: Very friendly, good food for an airline, low fares Cons: Make sure you don't get "bumped"
A friend of mine in a spur of the moment type of thing decided to go to Quito, Ecuador to visit family and invited me to come with her. One problem we have three weeks before our vacation from school and can't find an airline with round trip tickets from...

Pros: New aircraft, good food, excellent service... Cons: None...
I've flown Grupo Taca many times, I would recommend Taca over any other airline. Their aircraft is new, their meals are good, good audio/video system,
It's quite impressing how an airline can serve you a full breakfast or lunch on a 40 minute...

Great airline!
by natashka5 ,Jun 01 '06
Pros: great clean aircraft, timely landings, nice flight attendants, convenient connection, competitive prices Cons: strict 1 hour before departure check-in cut-off time
We flew TACA from Maimi to San Jose, Costa Rica on May 20, 2006 and then from San Jose, Costa Rica to San Francisco on May 29, 2006. On the way back we had to change planes in El Salvador.
We loved everything about the airline except for one thing you should be cautious about. We got to Miami airport TACA check-in counter 56 minutes before the flight (which is usually plenty of time), and the check in person informed us that TACA HAS A STRICT CHECK-IN CUT-OFF OF 1 HOUR and that we cannot fly on this flight anymore, which was a bummer. After 5 mins of negotiation and some phone calls that the check-in manager made, we were checked-in.
Other than that the experience was outstanding. Good very clean aircraft, eatable meal for purchase, friendly flight attendants, free alcohol and good coffee on board, very convenient connection in El Salvador (next door gate), timely landings in both flights.
We will definitely use TACA for all our Central America flights.

Baggage Problems.
by laurenceuk ,Sep 16 '07
Pros: New aircraft. Helpful TACA staff in Miami. Cons: Poor customer service at Managua airport.
Flying from Paris then Miami to Managua. A number of passengers either failed to transfer in the allocated time or their baggage never arrived (about 6 people on my flight).
Many travellers told me this was a regular occurrence on this route. This is not all TACAs fault, but it was difficult to contact them at the airport and on returning home that have ignored my e mail requests for confirmation of my baggages 48 hour delay.

Horrible experience on TACA
by drioux ,Jun 25 '08
Pros: nothing Cons: Read above... Can't get much worse.
Horrible...
We arrived two hours early for our 2:00 AM flight from LAX to Belize after buying the ticket (and prepaying all of our hotels/activities) months in advance. I was actually amazed for the first time by just how inefficient a waiting line could be... After an hour of not moving, we got bumped to the front. Obviously, I never even considered that the flight would be an issue, but I was wrong.
We got to the front of the check-in line before security, and they told us our flight was overbooked, and we couldn't get on. Not only that, but they couldn't get us on a flight until 24 hours later, so we lost out on about $600 of hotel and activity costs. What did we get for this trouble? 2 vouchers on an airline we will never fly again. Why not check with other passengers for volunteers like, umm, every other airline does... I am sure some people would have been willing to get bumped for a voucher. Not people who had prepaid for their only vacation of the year...
Miserable experience. Avoid TACA at all costs.
