Pros: None really Cons: Read the opinion
In writing this review I'm troubled as to where the beginning is. Let me start with a little background...I'm 1 of 3 kids, the oldest, and to help my parents celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary I made arrangements for the 3 of us to fly everyone...

Pros: Very friendly and understanding flight attendants, low fares, open jaw itineraries Cons: Delays, frazzled gate attendants
I'm having a hard time trying to decide whether or not to recommend America West Airlines. The majority of the flights have been from Baltimore to Phoenix (and back) with shorter flights to Tucson and Las Vegas thrown in for good measure.

Pros: pleasant ticketing agents, compensation for delays Cons: delays, delays, delays!
I was ecstatic when I found round trip from San Jose to Baltimore on America West for $220 to go and visit one of my college friends. It was a great deal and boyfriend and I immediately booked it. Upon arrival at the airport for our red-eye, we found we...

Pros: Cheap flights. Cons: Cheap service. Cheap food. Cheap booking policies. Cheap employees.
America West is a fairly inexpensive flight option between BWI and most cities out west, and there's a good reason for that. Booking a flight on America West is a gamble on a good day, and an outright travel disaster on a bad day.
Of the 6-10...

Pros: um, you will eventually get to where you want to go? Cons: LATE, cancelations, rude customer service!
Here's a happy little story (read sarcasm) of one girl trying to travel by air.
Living in Phoenix, the most flights are available on Southwest or America West. I like Southwest but sometimes having 3-4 stops going from Phoenix to the east...

Pros: Low Prices & Good Frequent Flyer Program Cons: Chronic Delays & Cancelled Fights
Nearly everything you read here about America West is true. I am a frequent flyer, and have found that by making minor adjustments to my travel schedule, I can avoid many travel issues that have plagued America West over the years. Unfortunately, our...

Pros: Cheap fares, good frequent flyer program Cons: No extensive east coast service
I have seen the low ratings of America West on epinions and I just want to throw in my two cents worth. I have flown this airline 3 times and have yet to receive any really bad service.
Everyone seems to want to complain about the airlines,...

Pros: You are lied to professionally. Cons: They don't kill you when you give over your money.
Usually when flying from/to atlanta, I tend to fly Delta Airlines but for my recent trip to attend Defcon in Las Vegas, my travel agent (soon to be ex-travel agent) steered me towards America West Airlines for$100 cheaper. Thinking to save my...

Pros: none Cons: boarding, customer service, everything
This is not my story, it is my father's but I was there, and everything about it shocked me as much as it is going to shock you. My dad arranged a three day vacation with him and about 10 of his friends to go to Reno Nevada for a golf tounement. (we...

Pros: cheap fares Cons: long delays, lousy customer service
I have had a series of bad experiences with America West. Long delays and lousy customer service are the most salient points.
* Delays: One flight was delayed due to a "broken seat." After several hours the gate was quietly...

Pros: They know how to fly the planes. Cons: They don't know how to treat customers.
I'm an airline brat, and I've also flown all over the world on business, with several different airlines. I have a pretty good idea of the how's and why's of air travel. I'm even pretty understanding of delays, if you can believe that.
I recently...

Pros: Relatively inexpensive fares; Phoenix airport is nice. Cons: High chance of encountering problems on a flight leg
After reading the "spot on" opinions about America West, I wanted to share the problems that I had with them. Since 1994, I have flown AW five times from Austin, Texas to San Diego via Phoenix. On three of those trips, my family or I have...

Pros: Some good prices, employee service okay Cons: Frequent delays and overbooking, no amenities
I found epinions shortly after I booked a trip on America West airlines. Too bad I didn't find epinions slightly earlier, because the general negative view of the airline mirrored my experience.
I have flown five flight segments over the last...

Pros: We didn't crash Cons: Too many to list
I really dislike having to totally trash a product (or in this case a service) but I think that America West warrants a scathing review for their overall service.
I admit that I purchased an airfare on America West because of the low cost...

Pros: cheapest for last minute flights Cons: late flights, inadequate crews, uninformed staff
In the last year, I have had two occasions to fly America West Airlines, both of which were booked by someone other than myself. Both trips originated in Detroit with a final destination in the Bay Area (CA).
The first outbound flight took...
