Pros: Great ports, good food, good service Cons: Some small cons - read review
We took a Celebrity Cruise to Alaska the last week in August 2006. Our ship was the Mercury and our itinerary included Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan in Alaska. We also cruised by the Hubbard Glacier and down the Inside Passage. THE SHIP OVERALL ...
Pros: A wonderful vacation, enjoyable ports of call. Cons: No dinner buffet on the Coastal Cruise, Butler service wasn't.
For most middle-class working families, the thought of an affordable first class trip indulgence sounds wonderful on paper. Booking: We used Cruises Only to book our California Coastal trip on Celebrity's Mercury. This agency ...
Pros: A great introduction to the inside passage. Cons: None
I have come to the conclusion that there are two types of cruisers out there; people who book cruises more for the ship and cruise experience than the ports of call, and those who primarily base their decision less on the ship and MORE on which ports of ...
Pros: Unbelieveable Service, Good Entertainment and Food Cons: Lack of Activities and Squeaky Ship
My wife and I took a late June 7-day cruise on the Celebrity Mercury to Alaska, leaving through Vancouver. This was our fifth cruise, so I have something to compare to, when giving some of my opinions. I'll give a rundown on, what I consider, the most...
Pros: Outstanding food and service, friendly staff, attention to detail! Cons: Our stomachs were not big enough, it was too short!
Overview
This was my third voyage on a Celebrity ship (I had been on the Meridian and Horizon about 10 years ago), but my husband's first (he had only been on Carnival ships before). I had high expectations, as my two previous cruises with...
Pros: Wonderful, relaxing, pampered vacation. Highly recommended. Cons: It costs money to drink soda.
My husband and I took our first cruise on the Celebrity Mercury. My parents are frequent cruisers and were recommending a cruise vacation to us for a while now. My husband and I were a little skeptical. We had the usual apprehensions about cruising...
Pros: Food and Sky Suite and our cabin deck Cons: not enough time at ports, exursions highly priced & paying for alcohol sucks
My husband and I took our honeymoon on the Royal Caribbean "Rhapsody of the Seas" several years ago. We decided to go on a cruise again, but this time to a colder climate...Alaska. We chose Celebrity because of it's high rating and it's outstanding ...
Pros: The staff & the food Cons: Three formal dinners, similarity in shore activities, closet "stateroom."
This, our third cruise in fifteen years, was our first aboard a Celebrity ship. The other two (Holland America and Royal Caribbean) had been what you might call "eye-openers." I'd always resisted cruises on the basis that they go nowhere and ...
M/V MERCURY: THE DEFINITIVE REVIEW Note: Ratings assigned as follows for services listed at end of review… POOR – Far below expectations and not acceptable BELOW AVERAGE – Did not meet expectations AVERAGE – Meets expectations, but not out of the ...
Pros: Marvelous service, beautiful ship, mostly good food Cons: As usual -- we had to go home.
My wife and I took the Celebrity Mercury round trip from San Francisco on May 17, 2004. We cruise fairly often and had previously taken two cruises on Celebrity (Millinneum and Constellation), but this was our first time on a Century-class ship. We had ...
Pros: The ports of call and the overall cleanliness of the ship. Cons: The food! not as advertised. And being overrun with children.
I booked a outside stateroom (8220) on the Celebrity Mercury on the 8th deck, Panorama. It was the last outside cabin available, the ship was 110% booked, hence the title of my article. There were 460 children aboard (!). This cruise looked good because ...
Pros: Pampering, good food, spectacular shows, and AWESOME scenery! Cons: Daily activities were, well, uninteresting, felt we were nickel & dimed to death.
We went on the Mercury in the last week of May, 2001 for an Alaska cruise.
Perhaps I just expected too much after reading all the other e-pinions, but I was a little disappointed. It was still great, mind you, but I was surprised the first...
Pros: Great shower. Plenty of deck room. The comfort of the Celebrity theater. Elevators take no more than 30 seconds to arrive. No blaring announcements. No theme nights. No waiters dancing with food on their heads. Cons: The pools and hot tubs close every night at 7:00pm. Shipboard shops are boring. There was only one half hour each day in which NO FOOD was served anywhere!
The Mercury is beautiful, but not glitzy and overstated. It does not feel like you are on a megaship, and rarely did we experience crowds. The staff and crew were warm, cordial and very helpful throughout the cruise. Our stateroom was very well...
Pros: Magnificent food, great crew, scenery, drinks, ALASKA, shuffleboard Cons: price (sometimes), small room, TOO SHORT OF A TIME!!!
We began looking for a vacation to take with our family to celebrate me and my wife's 25th Anniversary. We wanted something special and something we could remember. I was consulting with a woman in our Corporate Travel office at work and she said when ...
