Pros: Trekking among Komodo dragons. Beautiful islands. Cons: No life jackets or life boats on the boat trip, and fuhgeddabout using the bathroom.
On our June 2006 trip to Indonesia, we decided to take a 5 day trip to see the Komodo Dragons. We booked our trip from a local travel agent in Ubud. The 3 day 2 night package consisted of roundtrip transfers to and from your hotel in Ubud, charter air ...

Introduction
As many of you know, I lived in Indonesia for six years. During my time there, I traveled to all over the country, and experienced its good and bad qualities. Indonesia was a wonderful place to grow up in as a child...

Pros: Great views, more space on top, a whole new perspective Cons: Watching out for limbs, and sharing a ten person bus, with thirty people. Also remember to barter for the fares. They'll get you if they can.
I just recently read Walterdamson's Safety talk countering Danny and I would agree one hundred percent. I spent three months traveling through Indonesia, and I can tell you it'll takes it's toll. I was never crazy and gutsy enough to rent a...

Pros: Great mix of people and culture, don't need a tour guide Cons: Locals are getting more and more used to tourists so watch out for rip offs
When you hear someone talking about Indonesia, chances are they are blabbering about the wonders of Bali, and frankly, I have to agree. But, in a country made up of 13,000 islands, Bali is only one -- and probably the least representative of the rest....

Pros: exotic Cons: a tad dangerous
I was in Jakarta during the presidential elections 2 years ago when Megawati was just beginning to challenge then-President Suharto's reign and was being threatened with prison. How AMAZING it is that now she is President and he is out of office. But I...

Pros: Lots of Pros working in bars Cons: Lots of Cons looking to lighten your wallet
I spent a few months there on business so my review may be tainted by the length of my stay. I don't want to impune the gentle pleasant character of Indonesian people. In fact, that is what made the stay there tolerable.
The tourist...

Pros: Your never to far from Volcanoes, and magnificent scenery Cons: Jakarta is dirty, loud and full of people, but worth it for the experience

Pros: Its safer to find a "trusted" taxi driver, at a "local" price Cons: A little more expensive, perhaps not so much fun
"Danny" thinks Yoyakarta is fabulous and "mgreber" says it's awful. I think that both views are correct and they both saw different things. I mean all the same physical things were there, but they saw them through different eyes....

Pros: Great adventures, variey of activities and sights, friendly people Cons: Mediocre food
While Yogyakarta is an absolutely avoidable place, Bali, and to a lesser degree Lombok, are phenomenal places to visit and learn. Bali has a huge variety of cities -- from luxurious places like Nusa Dua and Sanur, to local arts and crafts villages like...

Pros: Brilliant Sunshine-Wonderful People Cons: High Humidity
Last year (1999) I went to Hong Kong and Bali. I had the time of my life.
The hustle and bustle of Kowloon, where I stayed for 5 days was absolutely
fantastic. The shopping in Nathan Street and the bright lights of the
evening were...

Pros: Everything.... except the con: Cons: Being hassled by people trying to sell you anything they can
Hi,
Regrettably, I write my epinion about Indonesia knowing that a lot of the beauty I've found there is wrapped up in an awful political and civil upheaval that has kept me away for almost 5 years. Nonetheless, I write this assuming the...

Pros: Beauty, beach, service, room Cons: FOOD
This is a beautiful mega-resort. We stayed in the regency club which is very nice. Much quieter than the rest of the resort. However, the food is absolutely miserable. If there is anything that will ruin your trip it is bad food. The food in Bali is...
