Pros: Good Sights, Good Food ,Interesting Time Cons: Hot In summer, Cold In Winter!!
About an hours drive South from Madrid you can find a place to go back in time. It’s name is Toledo and it is a city that seems to have been untouched by time. Things stand still here yet at the same time , also move on. When you first arrive ...

Pros: History Abounds Cons: Easy to get lost!
Arriving in Toledo by bus (1 hr south of Madrid),we looked upon an amazingly well-preserved walled city. This 2000 year old city is a nest of art and history. Toledo is perched on seven hills on the banks of the Rio Tejo. It is protected on three sides...

Pros: Great place to explore, wonderful Cathedral, and El Greco's paintings Cons: Hard walking with rough, cobblestone streets
A customer at the desk of HOTEL EUROPA in Madrid talked us into taking the bus to Toledo. He said,"It's easy!", so we caught the Metro in Plaza Del Sol to LEGAZPI, and transferred to CIRCULAR 6, going one stop to MENDEZ ALVARO. We got off...

Pros: Compact - all major attractions reasonably close together Cons: The city is hilly and might prove a challenge if you can't walk a lot
As all the tour books will tell you, Toledo was once the capital of Spain and I'd recommend you read a little history first so you be able to appreciate it's place in world history as you gaze at it's remarkable unchanged architecture. The city is...

Pros: the cathedral was well worth the visit and the charming, narrow streets were something to see Cons: can get hot there
If you are ever lucky enough to be in Spain, I can't recommend a visit to Toledo enough. Madrid may be the capital, but Toledo has the charm.
The narrow streets are cobblestone which is very beautiful. Beware though! It's EXTREMELY easy to get...

Pros: relaxing, very very pretty Cons: not many -- but well, don't come here to shop
What struck me first about Toledo were its steep cobbled roads. Situated at the top of a hill, it takes some physical effort to navigate, but is worth every drop of perspiration. The little town looms before one's eyes like a fabled land, surrounded by...

Pros: The architecture and scenery Cons: your feet begin to hurt after walking everywhere
Toledo, unlike many of the other Spanish cities I visited last summer, was safer and more laid back. We took a day trip from Madrid, I think, and arrived pretty late in the morning. Our bus stopped on the balconies that align the roads that lead into...

In the beginning of June my family and I spent about two weeks in Spain. Our last stop was in Toledo, a very hilly city with beautiful narrow streets full of great food, history, and culture. The people of Toledo were especially welcoming to tourists, ...

Pros: Great things to see, great restaurants Cons: It;s in a hill!!
There was a time when Christian, Jews and Arabs could live together. They did in fact live together in the city of Toledo in Spain during the early Middle Ages. Of course, then the "reconquista" started and Christians from Northern Spain kicked...
