Niseko Hirafu

Pros: Awesome snow and great value skiing.
Cons: Starting to get a little crowded during peak season.

With an average snowfall in excess 14m (46ft) Niseko is one of the snowiest ski resorts on the planet. This means deep deep powder for much of the season. The lifted vertical is close to 1000m and there is virtually unlimited off piste skiing to take advantage of all the deep stuff.
Hirafu village has been going through some rapid change with an influx of investors from Australia and SE Asia. During peak season the resort is a little overun with Aussies but they're not such bad folk once you get to know em.
We stayed in an ultra luxury chalet through The Niseko Company called Latitude 42. The service was great and everything in Japan is very reasonably priced. Gone are the days when Japan was one of the most expensive countries to visit.

Pros: Fantastic accommodation. Incredible skiing.
Cons: Books out very early.

Last season I stayed at the newly completed Fresh Powder Apartments in Niseko Hirafu. The accommodation was awesome and the powder snow was insane. I was knee deep in powder every day!
If anyone is going to Niseko I would totally recommend staying at Fresh Powder Apartments. The manager Sal, went out of her way to show us around the township, book us into the local restaurants and showed us a few secret powder stashes on the mountain.
The town also has these amazing Onsens where you can relax in a hot spring and sip on a cold beer.
Best snow I have ever seen.
