The search for a perfect snowboard getaway continues. Found?

by kauza , Apr 04 '00
Pros: Great park, Awesome snow, good intermediate terrain, lots of lifts, good sized mountain
Cons: Halfpipe not carved well, food wasn't stellar, lifts should be faster,
Living in New Mexico, I don't often get the chance to snowboard up north, in places like Washington and Oregon. Luckily, I have some relatives that live there, so I can have an excuse to go there. I had a choice between Crystal Mountain, Stevens Pass,...

Pros: Snow, intermediate terrain, modern lodges
Cons: Prices, Crowds
Stevens Pass has great snow, nice cruising, high speed lifts and laced with a few expert shots.

Why is this place great for intermediates? Partly, a lack of competition from other WA state areas. Crystal's intermediate terrain can be a...

by seraphim , Jan 12 '00
Pros: inexpensive, big, many runs,
Cons: somewhat spartan in appearance
I have gone skiing at Steven's Pass at least once per year for every year of my conscious existence. When I lived in Upstate NY and came to Washington in winters to be with my mom we would go up every weekend, sometimes my dad would even join us. The...

Best skiing in Washington

by didyouhear , Nov 14 '04
Pros: high speed quads well groomed runs great food
Cons: Motor home lot poorly managed . parking lots fill up early.
Skiing in Washington can be a challenge for those that are used to skiing in the dry snow. Stevens Pass tends to have heavy wet snow most all of the year, with the exception of spring skiing when the sun comes out. Unlike the larger well managed ...

Good Mt. but has grown too Popular

by Benw66 , Mar 25 '00
Pros: Fun runs with modern lifts
Cons: Too crowded/expensive, lacks experienced terrain
Stevens is a great mountain with lots of great intermediate runs but the recent growth in popularity and the lack of difficult runs has caused my oppinion to decline. While still beating Snoqualamie hands down, If you have the extra time take the extra...

Nice mountain, rude workers

by Adept , Apr 13 '00
Pros: terrain, size
Cons: workers, getting uphill!
Steven's was very cool, with a good vertical and lots of varied terrain. The big bowls at the top are great and there's a halfpipe and a few other surprises on the way down. The night skiing is great too.

There were a few big problems though....
