Enterprise trumped up unwarranted damage charges.
by jborenst ,Mar 29 '07
Pros: They picked me up. The agent was well dressed.
Cons: Enterprise trumped up unwarranted damage charges.
When I returned the car, Enterprise employee said that the auto's rear bumper had been ruined and had to be replaced. I had not noticed the small ding until it was pointed out. It was certainly too insignificant to fix. The employee was judgmental not helpful and rude. I will stick with Hertz.

In a word....terrible.
by jayda75 ,Aug 13 '07
Pros: cheap
Cons: lie to customers, don't honor online reservations
Sure they are cheap but the reservation system and customer service is terrible.

I reserved a car online, was a half hour late to pick up and they had given my car away. It was the last one on the lot and they had no other car for me.

They had my cell phone # and email, both of which they could have used to let me know they were releasing my vehicle or confirmed I was coming in but didn't bother to notify me.

I came in the following morning and explained what happened. Lindsey at the Seattle office said they were sold out but would bring a car up from the South lot within an hour. An hour later, no car and no call to notify me.

I visit the office and she finally fesses up that there is no hope until the afternoon, making me wait while missing meetings and having to take taxis the night before. I rented elsewhere but was told they'd call when a car was available.

I'm still waiting. Never use them.

Helped me out of a jam
by jstephens62 ,May 02 '07
Pros: Great response to a sticky situation
Cons: I wish their Kia SUV was 4 wheel drive
I rented a Kia SUV from Enterprise for a week long trip to southern California. I got myself stuck in the mud on the shores of the Salton Sea (don't ask how) and called Enterprise for a tow. They were very attentive, calling to make sure I was OK and to make sure that the truck arrived on time. I was off the paved road, and by rights they could of charged me for the tow, but didn't. They also didn't question the mud inside the car when I returned it. I used to think that all car rental companies were the same and would decide on price only. Now I will use Enterprise if possible.

They don't pick you up.
by karipei ,Dec 18 '07
Pros: the car was wonderful, a Chevrolet Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.
Cons: Very young, inexperienced customer service reps. Rude, unhelpful, unknowledgeable and with attitude.
They hire kids right out of school with a lot of attitude. They are unprofessional, inexperienced & rude. Plus, they don't "pick you up". Check the fine print and pray that your rental car doesn't get broken into, windows smashed and the GPS stolen, as mine did. Enterprise will leave you high and dry in a foreign place. After 3 hours of sleep from dealing with the police and towing, The customer service rep from Enterprise didn't understand that I was trying to replace a rental from them. She was so unhelpful and impatient, that it took 3 phone calls before she actually listened, gave me correct information. Plus, I had to spend $40 for a taxi to Enterprise, because they don't "pick you up" as their motto states.

Good Focus on Customer Service
by nineryankee ,Sep 14 '06
Pros: Low Rates. Seems intent on improving Customer Service.
Cons: Dirty Vehicle Interior.
I had a very unpleasant experience with the Customer Service at Enterprise, when I tried to get some assistance with releasing the hold they had placed on my credit card for the deposit. However I was impressed with the prompt apologetic and reassuring response from Enterprise after I described the unfortunate experience. I now feel convinced that Enterprise has a strong focus on improving Customer Service, so I will still consider renting from them again.

Chattanooga Airport office/staff GREAT!!
by azagthoth1974 ,Feb 24 '08
Pros: Quick service, friendly staff(CHATTANOOGA AIRPORT LOCATION)
Cons: Chek your vehicle for cleanliness before ya leave!!
Rented a Grand Caravan for Myrtle Beach trip. Got van home and found that it had puke in the bak seat, candy wrappers all over the back and was in just filthy shape. Had to spend an hour of MY VACATION!! just vacuming it out. Got back to the Chattanooga Airport location 1 week later and told the same person that had given it to us what happened. He immediately gave us nearly a 50% discount and apologized. As far as this location goes, GREAT SERVICE, FRIENDLY STAFF, and NO WAIT!! Also, if you can, do your paperwork ONLINE. It will save you time, face, and grace!!

Great Service
by rasheaten ,Jul 08 '04
Pros: Quick, friendly and efficient service
Cons: Dirty car interior
My fiance and I rented from Enterprise near the LAX airport. We chose Enterprise because it was cheaper in comparison to the other major car rentals. The service was wonderful. Upon our arrival to the airport we had only a short wait for the Enterprise shuttle. The shuttle driver was very helpful and friendly. When we arrived at the lot there was no waiting in line, someone helped us right away and he was very friendly and efficient. However, the car's interior was stained and smelled slightly of cigarettes.

The only problem we had during pickup was with the security check on the way out - apparently something was not readable on the contract, so the security person had us return to the counter. We had the problem fixed and we were on our way within a matter of minutes.

The drop off of the car was a snap. We pulled in, they quickly checked the car and gave us a receipt for exactly the quoted price and the shuttle was right there waiting to take us directly to our terminal.

Sleazy Business Practice
by apartment910 ,Apr 18 '09
Pros: Local rental branches
Cons: Customer Service
The first two times I rented cars from Enterprise they seemed to be a decent company, 4 out of 5, I would say. But the last time, when a minor issue arouse, the way they handled it revealed their true colors- cheap, sleazy, dishonest. There was a minor questionable charge they put on my credit card, which I tried to resolve with their customer service. Initially, they promised to abandon it, but after some time they just stopped responding and eventually refused to honor our agreement. Since the charge wasn't my responsibility at all, I decided to contact BBB, and with their help I eventually got my refund. It is just the way Enterprise treated me that was not appropriate for a good business practice.

Enterprise the best so far.
by hederres ,Mar 27 '08
Pros: They can pick you up. Friendly to talk with. Good rates.
Cons: Not open in the evenings or on Sunday.
I rented form enterprise because they had the best price for a full size car. I live 6 miles away from the agency and they said they would pick me up. They did even though the next day another rep said I was out of the area. It was a busy time for them because of spring brake in SLC Utah so they offered me a Subaru outback instead of a full size car. Fortunately I only had two people and not five on my trip. The employees seemed the happy with their jobs unlike many rental companies. They explained the extra cost of their insurance and other requirements clearly.

Didn't honor my reservation either...
by dotcomster ,Dec 26 '07
Pros: None! And I mean none.
Cons: Unprofessional, unreliable, serious liars. Unexpected surprises -- they interfere with your vacation plans.
I made reservations 15 days in advance. They called to confirm my reservation 2 days before my arrival. I arrived at their Richmond Road location in Lexington, KY at my scheduled time and was told "I'm sorry, but we're out of cars." WHAT? I have reservations! What kind of business does this? I came unglued and called them some ugly names. I told the cons at the counter that it's a good thing I also have reservations at Avis and that I could always depend on them. I drove across town to Avis and there sat my car waiting for me. I was using enterSURprise for their low rates and Avis (which I normally use) "just in case" since I've read so much negative stuff about them. Boy am I glad I did. I had non-refundable reservations at at a resort in Gatlinburg and would not have made it had it not been for Avis. Be smart, and never, ever depend on enterSURprise for a car. I'll never step on their property again, never!

Enterprise; lousy service & filthy cars
by themadone ,Feb 27 '08
Pros: None
Cons: Break appointments can't deliver cars agreed upon Poor maintenance, filthy, smelly, unhealthy interiors
Called made prior arrangements a week a head of time, they never showed up to "pick Me Up!!" at the body shop. Called they stated there was no one there to get to it today...sorry it's ready you'll have to come get it.

Finally arranged for ride, slow service upon arrival, car not a mid-sized but a compact, condition was filthy, interior stank so badly of stale cigarette smoke and stale nasty "air freshener" I had to keep a window open in 30 degree temps. Had to drive for 40 minutes when I got out my clothes had the same stink on them. Smelled like a bad bar binge in a smoke filled bar with the smoke saturated upholstery. Just plain poor upkeep and cleanliness. Never again as well as anyone I know will be throughly discouraged from renting a car from them.

BAD BAD experience
by akanemouse ,Jun 02 '08
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Let go of the reservation under an hour No help
My husband and I reserved our car over 3 month in advance. We were flying into San Jose, memorial day weekend. Well...our flight ended up being delayed about 45 mins and when we got to the Enterprise desk they informed us that they let go our our reservation and they had nothing for us. They told us to go to Fox because they sometimes honor Enterprises reservations and prices. We had reserved an compact car and ended up with a PT Cruiser.

Other then passing us on to Fox, they offered us no help or any compensation. I understand it was a busy weekend but honestly, we had no control over our delay and if they had not gotten us a car we would have been stranded because our hotel was in San Francisco.

Recommended, especially for those under 25! BUT...
by jamille2 ,Nov 30 '03
Pros: They rent to people under 25 without extra charges. Freee pick up/drop off/
Cons: Long wait at store. Poor customer service. Insurance issues.
I've rented from Enterprise twice. Overall it was a positive experience. I first chose Enterprise because I was under 25 the first time I needed to rent a car, and they seemed to be be the only national chain that would rent to me without a massive surcharge (others wouldn't rent to me at all). The first time, they didn't have the type of car I'd requested (compact) so I got a free upgrade to a full-size car (Chevy Malibu). They also gave me a free ride to the train station, which was great.

My one warning is to make sure that if you do not want the additional insurance coverage, that you do not wind up being charged for it. In many cases, this insurance is not necessary, depending on your car insurance policy. I expressly told the Enterprise representative that I didn't want it. When I got home and looked at my bill, I had been charged for it. Multiple calls to the location I rented from went ignored. When I finally spoke with someone, I was sent a full refund, so it did all turn our fine in the end. Eventually.

This Enterprise (Georgia) terrible car maintenance!
by davidmiller767 ,May 28 '06
Pros: Nice polite staff
Cons: Horrible maintenance on their cars. DANGEROUS !!!
Due to my car being totaled - I rented a brand new Ford Focus. After driving it home, I quickly noticed that the tires were terribly out-of-balance!!
I took it back the next day (17 miles one-way)... and they cheerfully swapped out for an older Dodge Neon. (38,000 miles)
It was late in the day, and by the time I got on the freeway, I noticed it too - had tires HORRIBLY out-of- balance!!
Again I returned the next day and explained the issue. They put the car up on the rack, and the tire shop (next door) informed me that not only were the tires badly out of balance but the the drivers' left rear tire, was showing steel from belted radial coming thru ... and had to have the tire replaced.
What does that say about the scheduled maintenance of ENTERPRISE??? Will never rent from then again.

NEVER get robbed by dealing with Enterprise
by fightfortruth ,Jul 13 '07
Pros: All the Pros are for getting few bucks out of your pocket
Cons: Incomplete information, Charge you more by making it feel obvious.
I rented a car from Enterprise and would recommend that you NEVER go to this shop. All the goodness that you receive from them is to get few additional bucks from your pocket. The salesman advertised me to take additional insurance but never mentioned that there will be a huge additional cost for that. I was asked for $100 more during final billing for a total bill of around $100.

I think that they will tell you everything except one and will charge you for that.

Rest all additional services are for attracting the fish in their net.

Beware!!!
