Pros: Very fast service even for budget travelers Cons: None, if you are careful
On my recent trip to Los Angeles, I rented a Hyundai Accent from Hertz at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). It really wasn't my choice to pick Hertz - Priceline.com chose them based on my request to rent a car for $18 per day. I've rented from...

Pros: I Still Gladly Let Hertz Put Me in the Driver's Seat Cons: None except a possible wait in line. More people seem to be in their lines.
I have been traveling for business and pleasure for the past 12 years. In that span, I have used just about every car rental company with an airport presence. Ten years ago, I would probably have preferred Budget over all the others, including Hertz, but...

Pros: Great fleet, awesome phone service, great rewards. Cons: Certain locations are off airport due to large size.
Hertz is very savvy, because it recognizes the importance of frequent customers. If you are a frequent car renter, you probably use Hertz. If not, you should give them a try.
I have rented from Hertz for over 3 years, and have been extremely...

Pros: Selection, service, AAA discount, clean new vehicles, nice facility, no BS. HLE great as well. Cons: None. Airport and HLE are great.
LAX REVIEW PICKUP: Clean, well-lit buses to huge facility off-site. 5 agents on duty at 7pm on a Thursday, about 20-25 minutes in line. Not great, but better than Alamo, which has lines to rival TSA's. Semi-pushy pitch for insurance, including a ...

Pros: None Cons: Horrendous customer service
Here is a copy of the letter I have mailed Hertz... After booking a car days in advance, my traveling partner and I arrived at the Hertz rental office at 12 East 13th St. in Manhattan on the morning of Saturday, August 2. The car we had booked was to ...

Pros: Efficient and friendly staff. GPS. Cons: Was not in airport.
Let me first say that I didn't choose Hertz . It chose me. I used Hotwire.com, and the purchased the lowest price car rental. The lowest price happened to be Hertz .
Arrival
When we first arrived in ...

Pros: Charges excatly as quoted! No pressure on ins or gas, straight forward & new car. Cons: Could be very expensive if you don't catch a good deal!
Last March (2006), I booked a road trip. My family and I caught a flight from Vancouver (on the West Coast of Canada) to Montreal (in Eastern Canada). We drove to Quebec City a few days later (3 hours), then we continued down to Boston (8 hours) and ...

Pros: Very quick with #1 Gold. Great locations (usually). Never had a problem Cons: Usually the most expensive option
I travel a lot for business and pleasure. Much of these trips involve renting a car, and I've rented from them all, even the weird ones in East Undershirt, Montana ("Joes Carz").
Through it all, I try to rent from Hertz when I can. I've...

Pros: located in almost every major city and airport, with on-site cars Cons: expensive and rude "service"....what more could you ask for?
Even though Hertz is probably the biggest rental car company in the world (?) and recognized by most people, I don't think that they got to that point by superb service or competitive prices. They were among the first national rental car companies, and...

Pros: GPS destination guidance that takes the hassle out of getting to where you want to go, and it's inexpensive! Cons: Recent changes or detours to streets and highways will not show up.
What......you'd think that I'd get lost in some city that I've never been to? No, that would never happen. And why is that you ask? Well, its all thanks to Hertz's optional Neverlost feature with their rental cars.

Pros: probably have nice cars Cons: overpriced; confusing, wheeling & dealing salespeople who try to convince you that you're saving money
Recently, company from Austria arrived to stay with us, and wanted to rent a car. We walked into the Long Beach airport and went up to the first rental window there, which just happened to be Hertz, partially because it was the first one we saw and...

Pros: Reliability and consistency; specials on "luxury" vehicles Cons: sometimes costly
I'm a weekly business traveler and feel like I drive rental cars than my own car at home ... in fact, I sometimes have a bit of difficulty driving my own car after "adjusting" to a rental for a couple of weeks.
With all of the rental...

Pros: Fast efficient service. Plenty of transport to and from airport. Good cars Cons: Never sure of what you will be driving.
I have been traveling alot. I have had the chance to use Hertz several times and they do get the job done. They are not cheap. If you don't pay them extra, they don't roll out any red carpets. But I have come to depend on them to have a car waiting at a...

Pros: None Cons: Will not rent car without a Credit Card (Visa Check card isn't good enough)
It could have been the weekend trip from Hell if every encounter had been like the one at Hertz. Fortunately, Hertz was the worst of it.
I flew into Trenton, NJ's Mercer airport to visit two friends for the weekend. I had booked my flight...

Pros: Neverlost system...quick service Cons: pushy on insurance sales
I took my own advice on my recent trip to Los Angeles and stuck with one of the bigger car rental companies...Hertz.
After a bit of Internet research I was able to get a full size car for the price of a compact. In addition, the car I...
