Pros: Good German food, fun ambiance. Cons: The shops are a bit expensive. But that's to be expected I guess
Ach di Leiber, I have been meaning to write about the German Pavilion for a while now but I wasn't sure there would be enough to say, but, thanks to this years most popular lean and mean write-off, I think this is the perfect opportunity to share ...
You will have loads of fun as I did when I visited the Germany area at Walt Disney World Epcot. The epicenter of this particular exhibit is their imitation German Octoberfest Hall which has a German band that plays all the traditional tunes from Germany ...
Pros: Great food, sights, and shopping! Cons: None
The Germany Pavillion is another favorite of mine simply because I have been interested in Germany since 6th Grade when I started to learn the language. I would take "German" through High School, and was fortunate enough to be in class when the...
Pros: Fun train village, Lovely Hummels, Tradition Cons: High prices in the shops.
This area of Epcot is cleverly done. The miniature train and village around it are typical of Disney "magic". If there wasn't always a crowd present, the little pathway through this model would be a romantic spot. My husband and I watched...
Pros: excellent food, wonderful service, great floor show Cons: gift shops a bit overpriced, even with reservations, you probably will wait
My family on my mother's side is all German from the Black Forest area. We still have relatives that live there, and I recall my great grandparents speaking German when I was very small. I grew up with grandma making saurkraut on the back porch (a...
Pros: Great food, wonderful experiance and we'll be BACK!! Cons: A bit spendy!
We entered th Biergarten at the perfect time of day! We read several articles before going here that told us "how to get the best" out of our Biergarten visit. We were told to show up approx. 15 to 20 minutes before their show was scheduled to start. ...
Pros: Very entertaining dinner show Cons: Even with reservations, we had a long wait
I have visited all the world showcase pavillions at Epcot, and Germany was definitely my favorite because the dinner show was incredible. The show consisted of quality live music with comedic interludes. When I first entered the restaurant, it was...
Pros: None. Cons: bad food, bad seating, no floor show, poor value, made us very ill.
Three days ago my wife and I visited the German restaurant at Epcot. My wife had been there many times and I had been there with her last year. In all previous years the food was excellent. This year we were both ill after having eaten there. Not only that but it was horribly overpriced. My wife said it was the kind of slop she would not pay $10 for let alone the $105 we paid. It ruined the next two days of our holiday for us as we had to be in the bathroom all the time. Aditionally, despite there being free and empty tables the waiter insisted on cramming us all into already crowded tables and to cap it all, the floor show quit when we arrived and never returned. A very nasty experience and we shall never return.
The German shops were very interesting but horribly expensive. My stepson bought a pack containing 4 fire engines that cost him $20. This is the kind of toy that can be had in a blister pack of 8 for about $3 in the local grocery store. They were nothing special - just little die-cast zinc toy cars.
