Pros: Location. Cons: Smell, cleanliness, bad staff, no concern for complaints.
For those of you that live outside of Sacramento, you probably relate Folsom to Folsom prison. However, it is a very nice suburban city. You would expect a decent 24 hour fitness club. I started working out at the Folsom club in 1997. It was a little...

Pros: variety of classes, always a special sign up program, nice equipment Cons: very crowded, pricey application & processing fees
Recently I enrolled in a special at for the summer program for college students at the 24 hour fitness close to my house. I walked in and was pretty much impressed right away. The equipment is all color coded so that you know what area you are working...

Pros: Many locations. Affordable if you resist the salesman and get a lowered price. Cons: Dirty, smelly locker rooms, high emphasis on sales, unfriendly front desk staff(sunnyvale ca).
The Nautilus chain (now its 24 hour Fitness) was not so bad about 15 years ago. In fact, this gym in Sunnyvale on Fremont Ave used to be the best of the chain. In the last ten years, the chain and this gym have gone way downhill. The only focus of the 24...

Pros: Flexible aerobic schedule, month to month, can quit at any time. Cons: High-pressure sales tactics, dishonest business practices, flaky trainers
After investigating about 8 gyms in the area, I was already very turned off by 24 hour fitness, the first time I went in, nobody was available to help me. I should have taken that as a sign and left well enough alone.
Unfortunately, Their...

Pros: A large variety of workout machines Cons: Not really 24-hour; mediocre customer service
I signed up for this gym 3 days ago in Los Angeles. I had previously gone to a gym that was nearby, but the low price of 24-hour health and fitness was my main motivation for signing up.. boy, was that a mistake.
First of all, the salesperson...

Pros: I didn't get that far. Cons: Pushy sales techniques
After walking in to a new 24 hour fitness I was asked if I needed some help. Yes, I said I am interested in looking at the facilities and getting prices for possible membership. The man gave me a clip board with an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper on it and...

Pros: more locations Cons: Dirty, bad customer service with rude employee
I joined the club for more than 2 years, sometimes I went with my guests, and never had any problems until today. When we got there, the manager in Tempe, Arizona location first asked my friend to fill out her information. In order to not give her press ...

Pros: clean Cons: immature staff
The 24 hour fitness club in Lakewood WA has an extremely young staff that is ignorant and immature in their dealings with customers. The workout atmosphere leaves little to brag about to others. From the pastel wall colors to the elevator music that...

Pros: Close to home...hmmm I think that's all! Cons: Parking, VERY RUDE STAFF!, unclean bathrooms, janitors that sit around and do nothing..
OK so I joined about 4 years ago in San Mateo, CA (20 miles s. of San Francisco) and lately I've been going at least 4x/week. I've been paying the $34 ever since I started with them, along with a $250 enrollment & processing fee. I like to go after...

Pros: New facility. New equipment. Cons: Crowded. Rude sales people. Expensive memberships.
Waiting for 24 Hour corporate to stand up and do the right thing and offer me a discount to add a family member. After being a member for more years than I can remember, I was treated very rudely by a punk sales rep the other day, who told me it would...

Pros: Open all the time. Cons: You name it.
If you're serious about weightlifting / bodybuilding stay away from 24 hour fitness. I joined out of necessity and hated every minute at this place - I discontinued my membership after one month.
The particular gym I went to was completely...

Pros: Clean Cons: Greedy Cons, More sales people than equipment
I recently canceled my membership with Family Fitness. Two weeks after cancellation I noticed monthly dues charged to my credit card. First I assumed they made an honest mistake. After all, I had paid for the last month dues at the time I signed up, 2...

Pros: Nice equipment Cons: Cons are their specialty.
Signing up at their gym is like visiting a car dealership, as soon as you approach the vultures start to circle. Having already been through the haggling BS many-o-times, I was very direct with the salesman. I told him I've been through this gym sign-up ...

Pros: Most clubs 24 hours, many locations, and atmosphere (in some of the newer clubs) Cons: Superior machine gone! Some clubs: weak water, empty soap containers, and no air conditioner (oxygen)
After a long search through all the "new" 24 Hour Fitness center locations (those that have opened in the past year), I find they no longer carry the Stairmaster steppers (like 4400 or 4600), but instead will only carry the stepmills (7000). Upon ...

Pros: It's inexpensive Cons: Too many to list.
I have had numerous personal experiences with 24 Hour Fitness empoyees who really don't seem to know what's going on. When I tried to sign up for a membership I couldn't get the same story twice no matter who I talked to. Each time I inquired about a...
