Pros: Price negotiable, many classes, 24 hours Cons: Crowded, staff/trainers s*ck, can get stuffy
I joined this gym when they were called "Family Fitness" in So. Cal. About a year and a half later they merged w/ a No. Cal. company (whose name I forgot) and became "24hr fitness." I went there because it was close to my house, cheap ($12), and the...

Pros: Club finder listing all clubs within 5 miles. Newsletters for fitness info. Easy to navigate and answers questions. Cons: Aside from the trial membership, it does not list any prices.
I just enrolled with 24 Hour Fitness online, so this portion of the review is more about that than the club. That is until I get back tonight from the gym and tomorrow I will post Part Two about the gym itself. The site URL is...

Pros: affordable, and open 24 hours Cons: typical gym mentalities inside by employees
I joined the gym after I needed a alternate place to do my walking and exercising for my home program through physical therapy. I went into the gym, mainly because it is close to my house, and open anytime. I was greeted by a typical gym employee and...

Pros: cheap, locations everywhere Cons: sorta dirty and lots of gaukers
Most of the time this gym is filled with senior citizens and single guys. I don't really mind the elderly (except when they seem to dose off on the machines), it's the abundance of slack jawed gaukers that is irritating. I joined this gym because...

Pros: Anonymous corporate Cons: Anonymous corporate
I belong to the Berkeley gym, but have worked out at many others. I never joined 24 Hour Fitness as they purchased my body when they bought out the local Gold's Gym. Since that time the gym has been enlarged and many more devices added. The price has ...

Pros: many clubs, open 24 hours, low price, weight equipment is color coded Cons: dirty, not all personal trainers are certified, constantly trying to sell customers additional services
I used to like this chain, but over the last few years, every single gym this chain owns in my area has become downright filthy. Even a small club in an expensive area has a musty smell as soon as you walk in. The chain does its business by volume ...

Pros: Helpful staff, wide variety of equipment, variety of classes available, Hours!!!, daycare Cons: Cardio equipment may be hard to get on due to crowding
My husband is a United States Marine. I am a mother of 2. A few months ago, we attended the Marine Corps Birthday Ball and had our pictures made. It hit me right then and there where I had gotten and I had gotten fat. I wanted to break down right in...

Pros: A great place to workout. Cons: Too many people, too much waiting for the machines.
This is a great gym to get in shape, I have seen several gyms that cater mostly to the avid body builder and not to the general public. 24 hour fitness is for people of all walks of life from the avid body builder to the person that is out of shape and...

Pros: Open Day and Night Cons: Some plans don't give access to all 24hour locations
I joined 24hour just at a time when my two year hiatus from a gym was showing on my thighs. I had people at work ask, "Did you gain weight?" Frustrated, I wondered what kind of question is this and what were they trying to accomplish by...

Pros: not very expensive Cons: no personal attention
What's important when choosing a gym? Is distance from work or home more important than competence of employees? 24 Hour Fitness might be a good place to start a work out regime, but, certainly not for the long haul.
When I was younger I...

Pros: Your basic gym. Weights and machines, some okay classes. Cons: Rude and inept people running the place.
So (and here I'm echoing several other epinionated folks), first of all when my housemate and I went to sign up for 24 Hour Fitness both of the meatheads that we spoke with at the Club could not, or rather WOULD NOT talk straight with us about the rates....

Pros: excellent equipment, variety of classes, good locations, reasonably priced Cons: absolutely no customer service unless they're trying to sell you something
I checked out several gyms in my vicinity prior to joining 24 Hour Fitness. The main reasons that I chose 24 Hour were locale (several within 20 miles of my house), ability to work out at their facilities when out of town, hours and class...

Pros: Flexibility, equipment, cleanliness, staffing Cons: None
I have been a member of 24 Hour fitness since 1998. I was one of the first people to join this particular branch. The company I was working for had a partnership deal, so I avoided many of the startup fees associated with opening a gym membership. ...

Pros: Good equipment. Cons: Unethical, overpriced.
After my son was born I decided to try out 24 Hour Fitness. My sister in law was also looking to get into shape so we decided to join together. As a gift to me she paid my start-up fee of $54 dollars. She wrote a check for the full amount for both of...

Pros: good equipment Cons: too many people
What can you say about 24 Hour Fitness that hasn't already been said.
I was a member of 24 Hour Fitness for two years. The only reason I switched from World Gym was to gain access to their pool. I have been to three different 24 Hour Fitness...
