Pros: The exercise equipment Cons: The "must" see and be seen atmosphere
When I first started going to Bally's it wasn't that bad. I loved the exercise equipment, especially the treadmill and stairclimbers, etc. But the main reason I went to Bally's (almost everyday) was for the aerobic classes.
However, I...

Pros: classes, equipment, staff, Cons: none at this time
As an ex-member of Bally's (I was a member in the early 90's), I had hesitated to rejoin due to a somewhat indifferent opinion of the club. But after touring the club, meeting the outgoing and knowledgeable staff, and evaluating both the classes and...

Pros: The place is at least clean. Cons: Obviously they lie. They have co-ed saunas (Stratford has separate for men/women).
I would not recommend this club to my worst enemy. I was initially treated well during the sales process, but once the sale was closed the gloves were off and I was met with indifference and unkept promises. I wanted a club that would teach me a basic ...

Pros: I can't think of any. Joining a Bally's was the biggest mistake ever. Cons: That Bally's is in existence.
At first this seemed like a great deal. The location was good for me and there weren't that many other gyms to choose from anyway. I just went in to find out prices. But the guy trying to sign me up seemed really nice and when I told him I was a college ...

Pros: Les than 5 minutes from my office Cons: Way to expensive....
As one time fitness instructor, I had become accustomed to working out at some fabulous fitness and wellness centers for free in a variety of cities. Being in demand has its privileges.
I did arrive with my credentials as a fitness...

Pros: None Cons: Deceptive contracts and lying employees
I joined Bally's back in Feb 1997. Within a month of working out, I couldn't figure out why I was having chest pains. My cardiologist diagnosed me with heart disease and told me not to work out alone. He wrote a letter on my behalf to Bally's. I...

Pros: None that I can think of Cons: you name it
I work at Bally Total Fitness and I watched how that company screws people over time and time again. It is so bad that I work there and even I am not a member there. That is right I pay a lot of money every year to go to a completely different gym,...

Pros: Locations everywhere Cons: Horrible Service
Bally's has got to be the worst consumer business in this entire country. They are making billions of dollars by sucking consumers into a scheme that looks like it's a low cost alternative to a gym. The only problem is that it's like buying a car....

Pros: None Cons: Lots - mainly misleading salespeople and contract.
I am an unhappy member of Bally Total Fitness and have been trying to cancel my membership since January 2000.
I joined Bally Total Fitness in January 1999 and have seen a complete change in facilities (not to the members benefit). My...

Pros: Many locations Cons: Everything else
I live in Aventura, Florida. Have lived in N.J., and Boston. I am here to tell you that Bally's is a negligent business. Their free weight equipment is so old, antiquated, and number-less. Thus, one must guess the barbell weight they are seeking to...

Pros: 1st class equipment, lots of cool workout classes at great times Cons: The price/contract
I went to workout with my friend on a free pass and my first impression of Bally's Total Fitness was the staff was way to pushy. But I now see that they had to be in order to get your membership. They gave me a tour of the place, and showed me how...

Pros: none Cons: all of the above
Teenagers are NOT adults and therefore don't have adult rights under the law. They also don't have adult contract liabilities, that is you can't entice a teen to enter into an contract and then sue them when they can't live up to it. The law protects...

Pros: Fairly well-maintained clubs Cons: They're thieves!
Like a fool, I ignored all the bad things I'd heard about Bally Total Fitness Centers and walked into the one near work when I saw the 2 For 1 sign posted. Immediately, the salesperson told me the sign was wrong, that the 2 For 1 sale had ended the...

Pros: Clean, many locations, friendly, lots of classes and equipment Cons: more costly than 24 hour fitness
I think Bally (or Pinnacle as the one I go to is called--same company) is great. The one on Post street in San Francisco is perfect for my schedule--in fact it is right above the bart station, and since there is another one across the street, (like a...

Pros: Excercise both your body and your patience!!! Cons: Too crowded
My husband and I joined Bally's as a newly wed couple six years ago. We thought we were getting a "good" deal, but little did we know that their staff is trained to sell you their most expensive plans first, some times without even mentioning...
