This is my second Norelco (Philips) shaver in the past ten years, and I've owned this one for over two years. The first one lasted for five years and in the interim, I purchased a top of the line Remington and Braun which were both foil shavers....
Pros: quality shaver that gets the job done Cons: it lacks in its ability to shave my neck area cleanly
I was never a real fan of electric razors. I'm not a fan of shaving in general so I want something that is fast, easy, and gives me a close shave. Being blessed with lazy facial hair, I can get away with shaving every other day if I have a really close...
Pros: sleek design, fits hand well, nice features built into the LCD Cons: trimmer is not very efficient on coarse hair, expensive
I've had a few razors and shavers in my day. From disposables razors to electric and electronic shavers all of them have one thing in common; they irritated my skin to no end. Usually, the routine goes like this: I shave, with whatever I have in my...
Pros: Good shave, battery life, nifty LCD display Cons: Cleaning?
I asked for and received this razor as a gift about 2 years ago, and it still works as well today as it did in the beginning. In that time, I've changed the blades several times (at a cost of about $30 each time) but other than that, it has never given...
I own a Norelco 5885XL Electric shaver. I have owned and used this shaver for two and a half years. It gives you a very close shave and is just about as close as a blade.
The handle is formed in a way that is very easy to hold and it feels as...
Pros: Great close shave, small light Cons: Costs much
This is an excellent shaver. The self sharpening rotary blades really get the job done. It is also small and quick. That means you can take it with you anywhere. I took this with me to New York when I went. It took up so little space in my bag I...
wonderful shaver for a lady, too! by annbird ,Nov 17 '04
Pros: quiet smooth close shave, easy to hold, cleans easily, long battery life. Cons: none
I inherited this shaver five years ago from my dad, and it's the best inheritance ever! It is a secret, but many ladies also have to shave -- especially on the chin and the upper lip. This shaver works perfectly in these areas, and in that hard to reach under chin. And it is so smooth that you can use it twice a day. I get 60 shaves out of a charge (sorry guys). It cleans very easily. Wonderful razor. Will need new heads soon, but that is because of use before me!
Excellent design, mediocre performance by turbo90awd ,Dec 23 '03
Pros: Sleek appearance, many useful features, nice finish. Cons: Lousy shave on neckline, battery fails over time, trimmer is too big for precise trimming.
The unit is beautiful and chock full of features. It recharges quickly and has a nice LCD to indicate how many times you can use it again before you must recharge the unit. The moustache trimmer is a little hard to use because of it's width and it can easily cut skin because of it's wide teeth.
The rotary blades are great on flat areas of the face but, it leaves a ton of uncut hairs under the chin and along the neckline. It could take me 5 minutes just to get my neckline clean and then I'd have some red areas from constantly rubbing the razor against the skin.
The battery doesn't have a great life span. Over time, it begins to loose it's charging potential and will say that it is fully charged until you turn it on. Then it will say that it either has 1 shave left or it will beep and request the wall adapter to keep shaving. The battery is soldered in place and must be replaced by Norelco to work properly.
