Details: Toshiba's W704, a mid-priced 6-head hi-fi stereo VCR, is appropriate for cable and satellite users who want to get the best out of the standard VHS format, but don't require S-VHS Quasi Playback. Two of this VCR's six heads are 19-micron heads, which will yield nearly the same picture quality in the 6-hour EP mode as they will in the 2-hour SP mode. Unlike 4-head VCRs with 19-micron heads, the W704 has a full set of four standard heads that are optimized for SP mode, so you don't sacrifice image quality in SP mode to get better EP pictures. MTS and SAP reception enable you to soak in the stereo and foreign-language signals broadcast by many major TV stations. The shuttle control on the front panel makes precise fast-forwarding and rewinding as simple as turning the dial. Programming the W704's 6-event/1-year timer is easy using VCR Plus+ with C3.
