| For 1997, Saab 9000 introduces two new paint colors, Midnight Blue and Cayenne Red. A new metallic Mica paint which contains a high metallic flake that defuses light and produces a deeper color is an available option. Additional options include a sunroof and dual power leather seats for the CS model, both are standard features on the CSE and Aero. Saab was named the safest car in Sweden for six-years by their largest insurance company, and in the United States, the H.L.D.I. (highway loss data institute) theft loss report. The CSE and Aero come with a standard 2.3L turbocharged engine that supplies 200hp. The CSE also offers an optional 3.0L V6 that comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission, traction control, 8-spoked alloy wheels and Michelin tires. |
