Recorded live at The Baked Potato, North Hollywood, California from January to October 1996. Includes liner notes by Mark Isham. It's no secret that Miles Davis had a strong, developmental influence on Mark Isham's trumpet playing and composing; Isham makes excellent use of Davis-inspired minimalism and balance in his jazz, New Age, and film score recordings. It seems fitting, then, that Isham spearheaded a tribute album to the late genius with MILES REMEMBERED: THE SILENT WAY PROJECT. Focusing on pieces from Miles's celebrated fusion period, Isham has crafted not only a worthy homage, but a challenging, first-rate jazz outing.
