More Information
Details: The Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge, established as a range and breeding ground for pronghorn antelope and other species of wildlife. is a volcanic fault block located in the northern Great Basin. The escarpment along the west face of the refuge consists of canyons, cliffs, steep lopes, and knife-like ridges which ascend 3,600 feet from the floor of the Warner Wetlands. Pronghorn and sage grouse, the featured species at the time the refuge was established, still command a great deal of public interest.
