Details: This 64-acre state historic site preserves the remains of a once-fortified Indian village, which also was an important ceremonial center. Indians of the Mississippian Culture inhabited the site between 1000 A.D. and 1400 A.D. A kiosk with exhibits interprets the history and significance of this important Mississippian archaeological site.<br><br><b>Directions:</b>&nbsp;&nbsp;13 miles southeast of East Prairie, off Hwy. 80 on Hwy. 77 in Mississippi County.
