This telescope (ETX-90RA) uses a fork mount similar to that of its sister scope (ETX-90EC), but uses a simpler motor drive system. This internal motor drive system operates on a single axis (polar). Used in conjunction with the included tabletop tripod, the telescope may be placed in the equatorial mode for fully automatic tracking of celestial objects. A North-South switch allows you to easily change the telescopes orientation to for either northern or southern hemisphere, so you can use it anywhere in the world. Manual slow-motion controls on both axes permits smooth tracking of terrestrial or astronomical objects. Lock the manual controls and automatic tracking is quickly engaged through the motor drive. |
