Details: The Wilds is the largest facility of its kind in North America. The Wilds was opened to the public in 1994 and spans nearly 10,000 acres of reclaimed, surface-mined land--a gift from American Electric Power. Thousands of acres have been developed and divided into large sections where African, Asian, and North American species roam freely -- unencumbered by cages, pens or bars. During the past few years, we've invited the public to participate in our growth and development.
