Last March my fiance and I began looking for a new home. We knew we should get a bank's preapproval to insure we would qualify for the home we wanted. I called GMAC Mortgage Corp and within 24 hours they had us preapproved!

My experience has been nothing but horrifying. I missed two scheduled closings because they hadn't completed the paperwork, they scheduled the third on the last day of my offer, and then sent paperwork with a higher finance rate than ever discussed knowing I could close at that rate or lose my earnest money and the house (by the way the paperwork was there, but the GMAC rep was not..). They have missed paying my insurance multiple years in a row resulting in multiple cancellations and higher rates. They have "miscalculated" my escrow every year and my payment has gone from 800 to 974 in 3 years. As a GM employee I recommend any one but GMAC. A company cannot be this incompetent and make money. Must be scammers.
