Pros: none Cons: insulting and off-putting
if epinions wants to draw attention to itself, this ad will do it. but, unfortunately, i don't think it will be the kind of attention you really want. in this day and age when shootings on the streets, in schools, on highways have become so common as to...

Pros: None Cons: Promoting guns as a form of frustration.
If I were to view this commercial on television I would definitely not support the advertiser. What kind of message is this sending to children? Its okay to take a gun and shoot something we don't like? I don't think so! There have to be other ways...

Pros: Attention getting, unexpected Cons: limited audience
The commercial is very attention getting, and as a law enforcement type, I found it very positive. Everything was done right and appears to be legal. The ad is right to the point, and focuses on product review in a hard hitting way. I commend the action...

Pros: Memorable Cons: the gun
This ad could have the same impact using some other method of destruction. A hammer, a chain saw, a flamethrower, a bazooka even, anything other than a hand gun. The script is just fine, the gun is the problem.
I live just south of Flint,...

Pros: Nothing Cons: too much violent exposure for our children, hits way to close to home in the wake of the current wave of violence in our schools towards the children.
Why, oh why, would anybody in their right mind want to post an ad like this ? Even though the imac is an inanimate object, the message here is clear. If you don't like something, or possibly "someone", go ahead and shoot them !! With the...

Pros: Gets people bitching about guns, contains plenty of physical humor Cons: Do TV ads actually work?
As a 30-second entertainment clip, the commercial delivers as much amusement as old Late Night shows where Letterman would throw lightbulbs off the roof or drive a train through stacked gallons of milk. This is great! Physical comedy, mixed with a...

Pros: He wasn't naked and used protection. Cons: You could see and hear the commercial.
This spot will assure that you remain unsullied by thoughtful consumers who are searching the web for helpful information.
As an epinion.com representation, this will limit your audience to geeks with poor impulse control and lacking higher...

Pros: Quirky, entertaining, describes E-pinion's function. Cons: A little too edgy for some. Just the sight of a gun can be too much for some (especially victims of violence)
I think the ad is a lot of fun, perhaps more for adults though. I suppose that "adding to the images of violence and destruction that are already plentiful in society" is a reasonable counter argument to airing this ad.
I think the...

Pros: Jay's an expert on guns Cons: Jay's not an expert on computers
Well, don't shoot him. But don't shoot the iMac, either. This is a funny commercial, but it portrays epinion writers as crackpots. The tent ad is great -- shows a great way to test a tent in a funny, unique way. It's the kind of opinion you'd get only at...

Pros: Funny, well done and just a hoot! Cons: Bigger guns, and why only 5 shots?
I have to say that this commercial is fantastic. As a techy-guy who has worked for a few computer companies, Internet firms and now spend my days as a technician for a software company, I loved it. There MUST have been a line outside of other...

Pros: Attention-grabber, concise opinion of imac Cons: use of a handgun
I really enjoyed watching this commercial. I like the matter-a-fact way that Jay states his opinion. I do feel that it is attention getting and does make Epinions stand out. I'm sure that it will get the site a lot of hits.
I have a...

Pros: Ugly people can be on TV too Cons: guns, boring ad, inappropriate for this site
Would I not buy an iMac because some ugly geek is shooting it up wearing the "appropriate shooting range attire"? I think not. I thought this ad was so far from clever, it defies description.
I don't think Epinions.com should air...

Pros: intriguing Cons: potentially dangerous, one more home use for a gun
Well, I see the news from time to time -- pretty much still looks the same to me. Always we're complaining about the same stuff in regards to government, but why SHOULDN'T we be? -- we're making the same choices over and over, and we're having...

Pros: Funny, original, daring Cons: None.
I laughed my butt off at this commercial...it has to be the funniest damn thing I have seen in a long time. I just hope they have the guts to air it and ignore the whining from the politically correct Nanny-State types that want to childproof our...

Pros: Concise, understandable, funny Cons: Too cutting-edge for mundane folk
I think this was a brilliant commercial, in the same vein as the Nike Air/Bungee commercial that aired all of once before it was pulled. It explains exactly what's wrong with an iMac in layman's terms, and it has a visual kick that's genuinely funny....
