Most importantly, never hesitate to contact me via email with questions. I am a professional makeup artist, and I also have worked in many forms of media. I know sometimes my reviews can be confusing, so I'm always happy to answer emails.
Since I do try to put a sense of humor into most of my reviews, sometimes that doesn't always come through. Please understand it isn't that I'm not taking the product seriously. Quite the opposite. The product I review, I take very seriously... it's myself I have a hard time taking seriously.
I've gone to college and completed professional trade schools in makeup, special effects makeup, sound and technical theatrical design, culinary arts, and music (majoring in voice and keyboard/piano).
Obviously, I've studied creative writing extensively, but haven't fully managed to ace language arts. I try my best to use perfect grammar, but since acceptable grammar chances constantly, I only hope and try to please.

My full first name is really "B". I was born physically disabled with a birth defect called sacral agenesis to a Filipino doctor in New York and raised in Phoenix, Az. Desert sun and strong medical background drilled proper skin and health care into my brain from a young age. Both of my parents passed away when I was fairly young within four years of each other, my father when I was 16, and my mother when I was 21. Now, I'm 32 years old, I walk with crutches (as I have my whole life), and I'm hopelessly addicted to skin and health care products. I'm also a sucker for advertising and a yummy fragrance.
Apparently, even though I was raised in Arizona, the fact I was born in New York still shows in my "accent". Who knew?

I recently moved from Pasadena, CA, back to my hometown of Phoenix, AZ. I work in theater (sound and lighting), graphic design, and a comedic writer. I am also a professional make up artist (mainly stage, photographic, film and the occasional wedding), and an amateur musician/singer. I've studied acting and sketch comedy writing extensively... just haven't yet gotten up the courage do the acting part of that whole sketch comedy scene. I've been in several musicals, though! (It's okay to laugh at me for that.) I LOVE writing and between writing jobs, Epinions has truly kept me right in the zone I love to be in: A place where I can be funny and useful. That alone is a rarity these days. Do know, that I take my reviews very seriously, and only review products that I have tried personally and even at the risk of getting only a "helpful" rating, I will give you he information I can.
I have personal issues with depression and anxiety which has propelled me into agoraphobia, which I have the wonderful people of the crisis centers here in Arizona to thank for keeping me alive and safe. The rest of the credit goes to my family, who, despite their busy lives, have taken great care of me.
I have an insatiable love for music which is evenly divided between theater musicals and indie rock bands. I also spend a great deal of my free time trying (and miserably failing) to stay away from stores like Sephora, Bath & Body Works, and all online beauty sites to keep from spending all my money there.
As of the Summer of 2005, my sister's two sons were diagnosed one with Asperger's syndrome and the other with autism. While in Los Angeles, I became active with the local chapter of CURE AUTISM NOW to join the fight to expedite the research on this condition that affects so many children. I'm not a soap boxy person, but this is my nephews we're talkin' about here.
As of January 22, 2006, I can commonly be seen mourning the loss of The West Wing.
As of January 15, 1007 I am now the wife to my fantastic husband, who goes by the name, Michael.
As of April 20, 2008 I can be found obsessing over Bobby Flay for reasons I can't even figure out for myself.
Ad of May 17, 2008, I can be found working on "bento box" ideas for lunch for my husband who works normally from 4-11pm. I also have developed a considerable number of smoothie recipes wanting to be able to give my husband a healthy drink before he leaves for work. (feel free to e-mail me for recipes. I'm more than happy to share!)
