About bellyman
I am sick and tired of reading "VERY HELPFUL" with reviews. I have made a suggestion to epinions to revert the rating to that of microwave ovens - 0 = CRAP; 1 = EXCELLENT. There appears that VERY few on this site know of anything in between. What boggles my mind is that even ADVISORS and LEADS are calling reviews VERY HELPFUL which are in fact GARBAGE. Reviews that have NO CONS are not reviews but CRAP. EVERYTHING <- READ EVERYTHING has a con. EVERYTHING. I think epinions should be improving the quality unless they want to see less traffic by people like myself. A) A user should post something only after they have used it for at least a certain time period (min 7 days; 14; 28 days); also -- do you own the product? B) A user should be providing multiple followups -- 3 months of owning -- 6 months -- 1 year -- 2 years .. epinions should specficially have sections for this and even remind people to provide feedback. C) Improve a better rating system - that is more meaningful than "HELPFUL". Excluding Siskel and Ebert and Roper, most systems are based on numbering (10 stars; 5 stars). I am reading VERY HELPFUL for both CRAP and EXCELLENT Reviews. Something has to be done to weed out this garbage. D) Provide better forum for general advice. Right under a topic one should be able to post their thoughts on the entire product line below. E.g. "Toys" - "Electronic Toys" - epinions that are for all electronic toys. E) Improve the question "would I recommend this to a friend" - too vague. What if it is the only game in town - does that alter the answer versus - there are better? To hoard a bunch of data is USELESS. It takes me time to find people with EXCELLENT reviews and then bookmark them to only follow what they say. There is so much waste here. I am frustrated on what is going on. HELP? Yes - if you think I am full of crap - fine. But if you slightly agree - PROVIDE FEEDBACK. Get epinions to improve their system. I put garbage on the street - I don't care to read it. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!!! Bellyman (bellyman "at" fastmail.fm)
