I'm just your average guy... I don't have much time to spend on Epinions anymore, but I occasionally crank out a review or two. I'm always reading and rating them, and I often use Epinions to make decisions on products.
Rating: I rate based on quality. There are a lot of people out there, with widely differing opinions, and as long as the review is well-written and informative, it gets an HR, whether I agree or not. However, when people write
*subjective reviews e.g.
"I love Backstreet Boys! They're so cute! They are really talented, so talented that they don't even have to write their own music or play their own instruments!!" or other such garbage,
* meaningless nonsense
or
*intentionally inflammatory remarks,
I will give them a low rating. We don't need that stuff here. The site has enough problems as it is. Bottom line is, I keep my ratings objective and fair, or try to.
