I am a computer geek by day (I work as a database administrator for a huge computer network/telecommunications company) but by night I am a computer geek. Er, wait no that's not right. Actually, I guess it is. In my spare time, I created my own local consumer opinion site called Razorlist that I hope will complement services like Epinions. Check it out if you get a chance. How I rate:
Background - I am still fairly new to Epinions, so I'm still refining my rating criteria.
Highly Recommended - Must be well written, insightful and useful. What should I know before I buy this product?
Recommended - I consider every review as "Recommended" unless there is reason to change it.
Somewhat recommended - This is for a review that is missing something. If it doesn't tell me anything useful, if it leaves me with questions unanswered, if it just needs more substance, I'll rate it an SR.
Not Recommended - This is only for reviews with big problems, such as abuse of the system, repeating sentences or whole paragraphs just to meet the 100 word minimum, copying someone else's writing, etc.
I have a habit of not rating things I don't feel strongly about, so I tend to use a lot of HR's and NR's. I am trying to change that habit.
