About ErgoPropterHoc
|
So you want to know more about me, eh? I earned my Bachelor's and Master's (Public Administration) degrees from Cornell University. Since then, Ive moved to Maryland, but I travel frequently around the East Coast of the United States - especially back to Ithaca, NY, where many of my friends remain and where I will probably always call home. I especially love to go back for Cornell's hockey games.
My Epinions ID Ergo Propter Hoc is Latin, which translates to "therefore because of this." It's part of the phrase post hoc, ergo propter hoc, ("after this, therefore because of this") a famous fallacy in logic. But I hope that your decisions which come after reading some of my opinions are because of them.
As an analyst in the Office of Management and Budget for Prince George's County, MD (just outside DC), I supervise the fiscal operations of the Fire Department and Sheriff for P.G. County. I also help edit, design and publish many of the official documents for the County.
I used to be a Volunteer fire fighter, back when I lived in New York. I'm not anymore -- not because I don't want to, but because I'm not allowed due to my job (conflict of interest and such).
As an avid fan and participant in write offs, I've created Echo @ Epinions, where write offs can be found and navigated through easily. You can find quick-links to the most recent write off right on the Epinions pages, and archives of all the previous events. I also maintain a calendar of events there, which anyone can add events to.
During the summer of '98, I went on a massive, two month, ten thousand mile cross-country road trip, stopping at cities, monuments and other attractions all across America.
Check out my reviews from the trip (more coming soon): Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard Glenora Wine Cellars Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Chimney Rock, Scotts Bluff & Agate Fossil Beds Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Badlands Yellowstone S. Anderson Vineyard Beaulieu Vineyards Hoover Dam Meteor Crater Petrified Forest & Painted Desert
