I am 20 years old, and I just finished my Sophomore year of college. Last semester I got a 3.76 gpa; evidence that hard work gets you nowhere and little work gets you everywhere!
I have a big heart, but I also have a big mouth. Those who have read my reviews will understand!
Special thanks to urwiller for helping me get my graphic up. That painting of Raphael's Angels is one of my favorite paintings in existence, so I thought it would be a good choice to put up. I could have put a picture of myself up, but I like the whole mystery factor too much!
I would just like to say HI! to all you Epinions people I know and love. I'm back for the summer, so expect more reviews from me over the next few months :)
How To Get On My Web Of Trust
Ah, the infamous web of trust. Everyone has different criteria for deciding who to trust and who to leave off their lists, so here are mine:
1) Move Me In Some Way
If I read your reviews, and they make me laugh hysterically out loud, or cry for a few minutes, I will most likely add you to my list. Anyone that can speak out to me in such a moving way through their opinions, gets my vote. You don't have to be the best writer in the world to touch me in some inspiring way.
2. Be An Excellent, Smart Writer
Those who add a deep sense of intelligence, wit, knowledge, and personality will be more likely to get on my list than someone lacking these qualities. If someone is an outstanding writer and I look forward to reading their reviews, then how can I not add them?
3) Have Something In Common With Me
Those who love the same movies as me, listen to the same music, have the same political views, etc are the ones I am most likely to trust in terms of making decisions. If someone who likes the same types of movies as me, sees a new movie in the theater and loves it, I will most likely go see it too.
*Another thing: Those who write on topics I know nothing about (i.e. computers) I will not add to my list. It doesn't mean they're not good writers and it's nothing personal, but if I can't relate to what you're saying, then I can't trust you either.
One More Thing....
Just because you add me to your web of trust, doesn't mean I will automatically add you to mine. I am very thankful that you added me, but if you don't specifically fit into any of the three categories I mentioned, then I can't add you to my list. But I still love you! :)
Oh yea, and those of you who add me to your list, and do fit into one of the 3 categories, aren't guaranteed to be added either. If you have 39182 people on your list and I am one of them, I am not going to add you because you obviously trust anyone as a means of self promotion. Also, if you add me to your web of trust, but don't read and rate ANY of my reviews, you can forget about being added to my list.
Updated 1/7: Another thing about my WOT. The way a person rates other people's reviews also plays a part in whether or not I will trust them. There have been some great writers on the site that I have added, and then taken off when I have seen them revenge rate or NR quality reviews for no reason. The way a person conducts themselves on the website says a lot about their character.
If you have been removed from my WOT and would like to know why, please email me and I would be glad to tell you. I am constantly adding and removing people from my WOT, so don't take it personally. If I took you off, it means one of these things happened...
1) You haven't written a new review in a really long time, and I think you may have left the site. If that's the case and you return, let me know and I'll add you again.
2) The quality of your reviews have gone down, or the topics you write about don't catch my interest. For example, if I add a person for writing great movie reviews, and then the last 15 reviews they write are reviewing computers, I will probably take them off, because they are not exhibiting the same qualities as when I added them.
3) Revenge rating
4) I caught you in a lie on your profile or reviews and no longer respect you or feel I can relate to you.
That's all I have to say about that!
