Stop getting most junk mail credit card offers for the next five years by calling Trans Union at 1-888-567-8688 (1-888-5-OPT-OUT). They also share data with Experian and Equifax, so you don't have to duplicate calls to remove your name from the three major sources.
In a disclaimer, they say you may still get some offers that aren't generated from banks checking your credit rating...

How I Rate Reviews
I will almost never rate a review anonymously. I will always try to rate a review constructively. Anonymity eliminates the possibility of productive dialog, and the purpose of rating reviews is twofold, as I see it: 1) to insure that the information members and readers see is accurate, well-written, and entertaining, and 2) to give writers a chance to edit, expand, and improve their work, and to learn better reviewing techniques.
I am always open to changing ratings, and I am always open to listening and responding to other members.
My ratings:
HR - crisply written and fact-filled. Entertainment value is a big plus, but not absolutely necessary.
R - succinct, well-organized reviews backed up by facts.
SR - opinions without the necessary backup, carelessly written.
NR - reviews written (and I use that word loosely) solely for personal gain, with complete disregard for quality; reviews that are completely off topic.
My Web of Trust Guidelines
I feel that the people on my web of trust meet all the criteria listed below:
- write consistently good reviews which provide readers with the insight and knowledge to become better consumers and, in the case of qualitative editorials, better people.
- write in a way that reflects ethics and good character, and with genuine caring for the Epinions community.
- share their experiences in a first-person style, providing pertinent facts without losing sight of the goal to be a "real person talking to real people."
- maintain a selective web of trust themselves.
In addition, I consider many of the people I trust to be friends.
