As you can probably guess from my list of reviews im what they call on epinions a 'hip-hop head' - not by any means an aficionado but the stuff that i like i am quite passionate about. But as they say good music is good music so im pretty much into anything i can get my hands on, but i do have a waynes world spirit of worship towards rock n roll (particuarly not worthy of led zeppelin) which takes preference over country, jazz and blues which i have a small collection of - miles davis (blue), john coltrane (a love supreme) - you know they type of albums that every single jazz fan on the planet owns, so theyre genres of music which i would like to dig a little deeper than the surface of.
Im particuarly fond of the peace love and understanding period of music in america, when Joni Mitchell, CSNY, James Taylor etc where about, and all in all Joni's Blue album is probably my favorite of all time.
What else to say? Im from one of the meccas of rock n roll music: Birmingham (black sabbath, half of zeppelin, fleetwood mac, dire straits, motorhead)...wannabe sports journalist who is thankfull to the epinions music community for guiding me in the ways of hip-hop, putting one hand on my shoulder and saying 'what in the name of jebus are you listening to nelly for?'
And just for the record im closer to being a hippy than a ive ever been to being a 'gangstarr', but its just a name taken from the first hip-hop group i really got into.
Here's a few of my favourite things:
Food: Mom's spaghetti bolognese, magnifico!
Drink: A cold pint of larger after a hard days work, or pinacalda for those hot days on holiday in Spain - not the most macho drink but it does the trick.
Film: If i had to make a decision, id probably say Goodfellas.
Hobbies: Watching/playing just about every sport ever invented.
Song: Too hard to narrow it down to one.
Album: Joni Mitchell - Blue.
Person: I like a lot of travel adventurous eg. Bear Grylls (dung drinking aside) because it seems like an amazing way to live.
Philosophy on life: Enjoy it.
