I worked as a newspaper reporter and editor for several years at a small, daily newspaper. I jumped careers to private industry, starting as a technical editor/writer before taking a job in communications/public relations.
As a father, I'm finding less and less time for the selfish pleasures in life. Writing epinions will certainly be one of those little pleasures that competes with the fun of changing diapers and making funny faces.
I don't write epinions to be clever, nor do I have a secret desire to become the next Roger Ebert. My intent is for my epinions to be conversational as if I were talking to a new friend or old acquaintence.
With the majority of reviews out there on the popular subjects like movies, I tend to leave out the hackneyed details that every professional review will give ('Dorothy' played by Julie Garland visits a colorful world after being swept away in a storm.)
And I hope to not give away a plot. I HATE it when someone does that.
