Epinions is a Spectator Sport

It's a competition in my family to see who can write the best epinions, earn the most in Income Shares, and of course have the most hits. But just like football, soccer, or baseball, we all have to realize why we are all here. We are here for the "spectators".
The Players
Here we are, the players out on the field. What we do and what say are seen by the public. We get out there and play, for most of us that is just what it is, playing. We enjoy writing, we enjoy making a little extra cash, and we just love telling people what we think.
The Coaches
There are so many coaches in this game. We have our Advisors, Epinions support, our Web of Trust, and all of our friends and family. We need to remember that if we aren't sure of a "play" we should ask, seek out the information we need before just jumping in. I know I've emailed a few Advisors with stupid questions, but they were always more than willing to help me improve my game.
The Rules
First and Foremost .. keep it clean (No profanity). Write reviews on products, services, or beliefs that can potentially help the general public. Make them high quality and easy to read and understand. Be honest, but don't be afraid to be brutal if necessary. Point out the good and the bad. And then let the public make up their own minds.
The Pay
Thankfully we don't have salary caps!! We earn what we want to earn. Through ERoyalties, Referrals, Partner Sites and Income Share we have the opportunity to dictate what we earn. If you want a pay raise, then earn it! Just like anywhere else, if you want it, you are going to have to work at it. At least Epinions gives us several opportunities to work with.
The Spectators
Every day millions of people are out on the Internet searching for information. They want to know whether or not they should buy something. You can always find information at the manufacturers home page, but they want to know about personal experiences. They expect honesty, integrity, and as much information as they can get. If they find Epinions once through a fluke and they like what they see, they just might come back later and search for something else. On the other hand, if the information they get is useless, they might just head on over to Themestream or some other site to find out what they need.
Play Fair
Read and Rate others as you would have them R/R you. In this competition to get hits and ratings, we always need to remember where we stand. Together. We are a team. Just like professional football, if the spectators go away, there will be no team. So playing fair and sticking together is important. Read and Rate lots of other peoples Epinions. Give the new guys a fair shot, there are some fantastic writers out there, we need them on our team. Provide feedback, allow someone to improve their review, it only makes us all look better to the public. Become a coach to someone new, help others with their reviews, it will only help you more. The more you help others, the more they know your name, the better your own reviews will do. And lastly, remember to rate on the writing ability and amount of information provided, not on whether or not you agree with them.
If we all pull together as a team and work together, our spectators will be happier, more will come, and our pay will show it through additional hits, referrals, and Income Shares. And through our teamwork, we'll make Epinions.com the best place on the Internet to get valuable information on all types of products and services. GOOOOOOOOOOOO TEAM!!
