03/20/07 Hey folks! I've come a long way since my 1st review of my HP 715 pns digital camera. That's how I discovered ePinions. I was looking for a review of the 715. None to be found, I decided to write my own. I found a community that was quick to help me write useful review for others. I even found a fondness for the written word through members like Macresarf1. I call Macresarf1 'M' for short because I can never remember how to spell his name. I like to read his reviews, but I need to set aside a good hour because his reviews are long.

I like to write movie review and electronic/computer related reviews, but I'll try to tackle any area. I haven't written too many reviews lately because of time restraints, but I still feel connected to the site.

01/09/08 Finally hit another milestone: 2,000 epinion member visits. It took over 3 years to yet 500 member visits to get this milestone. Whew! Hardwork pays off. Next goal: 40,000 total visits(members plus non-members). Should get it later this year. Thanks y'all!

08/07/08 Haven't written a review in awhile, but appreciate the visits I get to my reviews. I hit the 40,000 total visitors milestone. Next up: 50,000 total. That shouldn't take long with ePinion's popularity and quality reviews. ePinions provides a great service and we need even more reviews for a greater variety of products and services. 04/16/08 Again, it's been awhile since I've written reviews here. Today, I'm going to talk a little about royalties for your written reviews. Few of us come here for the money, we just like to write and hopefully help others make better choices for purchases. But, when we reach a goal and make some money on our reviews, it validates what we do here in a substantial way.

My first review for the HP715photosmart digital camera earned me $0.01 as compared to my review for the Nikon D40 which earned me 600 times as much.

I don't write write reviews because I think the product will earn me more royalty, but I do like to fill gaps in products that aren't covered very well by other epinions reviewers. It just happen I claim more in royalty because there are fewer reviews.

My advice is to write reviews for products you are passionate about and that you know something about. It best when you physically own the product and it's not something you just research because you will come across more authentic that way.

Finally, don't hesitate to ask advice from other epinion reviewers. This can be of great help to get that coveted "Very Helpful' rating. If you don't get the rating you expect, don't get mad, email the rater and ask why they didn't rate you review higher. Ask if they will rerate after you improve your review. Take the time to hone a few reviews, rather than churn out 10 a week. Develop a network of epinion friends. You don't need a ton of people on your WOT. Aim for quality people you really trust.
